Had James Casey caught that ball it would have been a smash in the mouth drive....instead it was a FG.

I dunno. Two rookies and McCown are both ranked higher than Hoyer? Definitely last tier, but I don't think he should be dead last.

He's in the conversation for last, I mean, he barely held off Manziel last year. I wonder where they will slot Mallett once they realize he's the Texans starter instead of Hoyer.

Why do you always say that. The fans were trying to pull that same nonsense Denver fans did for Tim Tebow. The coach however did not allow the fans to dictate who he's starting at QB. Hoyer started off playing decent and so did the Browns. The around mid season the melt down begun and after week 11 or so Manziel started. Therefore please show us how he barely held off Manziel.

And as of right now it's up in the air for both Mallett and Hoyer.

He threw more interceptions than TD's and had a 76.5 QB rating....and that's "playing decent"?

Can you even imagine how bad things would have been if Ryan Fitzpatrick had been that bad last year?

Not in the beginning of the season Bobby. The entire team started playing like dumbstruck juice.

I can't see it happening because the Texans already seem to have too many WR's, but it would be kind of funny.

His numbers were better in the beginning and absolutely terrible in the end. Either way, he's not a "decent" QB, he's an awful QB. If he ends up being the starting QB, the Texans season is over before it begins.

But that was pretty much Fitzpatrick's career until BOB got a hold of him. You also said the exact same thing about Mallett before he had a snap in this offense.

A QB more familiar with this offense and another year of head coaching experience for BOB (with better overall personnel)... and it would likely be "expected" for him to at least top Fitzpatrick's numbers from last season.

Are you talking about Mallett or Hoyer right now? Because you've now said the same things about both of them.

I would give Hoyer no possibility of topping Fitz's numbers from last year....it would probably be hard for Mallett to either unless we're just talking about passing yards per game. Neither of those QB's are having better than a 95 QB rating and I doubt either has better than a 2:1 TD to interception ratio.

I said that Mallett had accuracy issues, people are still saying that. The difference between Hoyer and Mallett is that last year Mallett showed some potential to be a good QB and Hoyer is a known quantity as a terrible QB. They both have similar floors, but Mallett has the potential to be a pretty solid QB.

QB rating is like ERA in baseball, it can mislead from actual performance. Outside of the Titans games, Fitzpatrick mainly just didn't cough of the rock in the wins and couldn't be a QB to lead comebacks in the losses.

The QB situation, regardless of who wins the starting job, should be ranked the worse until proven otherwise. The Texans will go as far as their defense and running game can remain healthy and have consistent performance so the team doesn't have to rely on their QBs to lead comebacks.

I wonder if the Colts fans will be up in arms if Wayne comes to us, as much as we were up in arms about #80 going to them lol

They must have some serious confidence in Strong if they're going after Wayne.

If B'OB starts Hoyer over Mallet, that means Hoyer is better.

Fitz is on the bench backing up a scrub somewhere.

Maybe Wayne could be that 40 catch guy BoB wanted out of Dre(which I thought was ridiculous BTW).

You certainly have a pretty circular way of looking at things.

Fitzpatrick was a pretty mediocre QB going into last season... BOB's coaching helped turn things around.

You did say the EXACT same things about Mallett ("Texans season is over if he's involved... he's a terrible QB") before he even took a snap. Now you admit that he has the "potential to be a pretty solid QB" after seeing what he was able to do in an offense he was comfortable in, with a coaching staff that had confidence in him.

Not sure why the same exact thing won't/can't happen with Hoyer if BOB tabs him... you know its a viable possibility, and you have no reason to believe that BOB is incapable of turning him into somebody decent (hell, he had Keenum being a "serviceable" QB at the end of last season).

Here you go-among the teams showing interest in former #Colts WR Reggie Wayne: #Patriots #Ravens #Texans #Packers. Broncos have backed off.

    The wayne-johnson switcharoo is materializing....
