Should I approach my current job with another offer?

    Approach your superior about it. I've always been chill with them enough (and lucky to have approachable managers) to just ask about these kinds of things. There's nothing disrespectful about it. They have the same concerns as you do - making money to support their family and all that stuff. Just be respectful about it and say that you received an offer from another company and ask whether or not they can make a competitive one.

    Before you make the jump, grass isn't always greener on the other side. Dont burn that bridge with your old job. Negotiations like this never go well.

    If money is the only factor in this equation...Word of advise, never and I say never include bonuses as part of your income calculation. Companies are NOT obligated to give you that and they can easily take it away. In addition, bonuses are usually tied to company performance and unless you are one of the corporate decision makers, you have very little control over that.

    Always put emphasis on base salary.
