We absolutely need Jones. We have no idea what condition D-Mo will be in coming off of back surgery. We have no idea how many games Dwight will play this season or if he needs to rest on B2Bs. We have no idea if Capela will be capable of starting in his place if/when he does sit. We have no idea if Harrell is ready to be the primary backup at the 4 as a rookie. And most importantly, we have no idea if our frontcourt players can stay healthy for the entire year. I could see Jones being moved by the trade deadline if D-Mo has recovered completely, Dwight is healthy, Harrell shows he can play major backup minutes, and Capela continues to improve. But that's a lot of stuff that has to go right for him to be expendable. Otherwise we're stuck with him as the backup 4 out of necessity.
I don't consider him an asset. He's the 3rd most important person on the team. Only way I see Trevor getting traded is if a star is coming back
Are you being serious? Under what other terms would Ariza ever be traded? What did you think I mean? I find it odd that you had to actually say that. Thanks Captain Obvious. Ariza will get shipped without a blink for a true STAR
I don't think Harrell is ready for that kind of responsibility. Sure he's got potential to be a solid backup eventually, but it would be hard to do that year one. Unfortunately with Smith gone, we need Jones at least until someone else steps up and unseats him from the bench role.
I just said that *if* Jones can net us a guard. Playmaker/guard is a much bigger priority than backup big man. I agree, you gotta wait until DMo proves he's healthy, though. This is why I wanted Smith back and am disappointed he bailed, especially for less money. Really screwed up our trade scenarios.
Sizzle you know what will be funny? Lol if Jones beats out Dmo yet again for that starting PF position. But I agree if Morey is able to get a legit PG for Jones, sign me up. Or how about get us a wing player who can create for himself as well as his teammates. A Harden 2.0 type
Anybody here would consider signing Delladova. Only problem he wants $4mill a year and is a restricted free agent.
A Harden 2.0, yes... if you mean an improved version. He has improved in every facet of his game but needs more work in being as productive playing off the ball as he is with it in his hands. If you had a carbon copy added ONE of them would have to learn to be more productive off the ball. There just wouldn't be enough time on the shot clock, otherwise, for the copy. ... at least a la last season's Harden. Of course, the argument could be made that with a carbon copy that skill would become more automatic, without thinking.
Seth Curry is exactly the kind of player that the Rockets should be looking for to round out their roster and improve their shooting efficiency. Seth has even improved as a defender, becoming much better attacking passing lanes. And he shouldn't cost much more than the minimum.
Curry is staying in New Orleans. <blockquote class="twitter-tweet" lang="en"><p lang="en" dir="ltr">Move over Steph, here comes Seth: Hearing Seth Curry is on the brink of securing a guaranteed contract from the Pelicans.</p>— Gery Woelfel (@GeryWoelfel) <a href="https://twitter.com/GeryWoelfel/status/622113180853121024">July 17, 2015</a></blockquote> <script async src="//platform.twitter.com/widgets.js" charset="utf-8"></script>
Lawson to Houston shows Morey listens to his players. Goes a long way with current players and Free Agents in general.
