I'll give you my last dollar... or I've got money... and I MIGHT give you some.. but I want to wait and see if some second year player who couldn't even get off the bench for us (KJ) wants it first... he's a higher priority to me than you.... Disrespected! Kudos to JSmith for being cool about it and just leaving rather than b****ing and make a spectacle of it... wouldn't count on D12 extending.... we couldn't hold onto the only guy that could actually toss him an alley oop with any consistency - for MLE money...
KJ McDaniels gets offered the full MLE? Not Josh? Where does KJ play? He's a 6'6' wing drafted in the second round, folks. He'll play BEHIND Harden, Brewer and Ariza on the depth chart. Nice way to spend your MLE, Daryl. On a deep sub who won't even crack the rotation. Can't spend the MLE to retain a key starting forward from the playoffs, but you can spend it on a 3rd string sub or scrub.
Wrong, KJ McDaniel (with potential realized) offers the type of multi-functional, positionless type of player in small-ball lineups which Golden state (having about eleventy billion of them) just rode to the NBA title. It's a gamble that McDaniel will be more valuable in the future than Smith - and while Smith definitely offers value in spots, his net impact over the course of the season is still far from clear, and the Rockets are relatively stocked with big men who can't play beyond 4-5 spots.
Lol, yeah right...stop making stuff up after the fact to try and make yourself look good. Just like the Rockets would sweep GSW and sweep the Cavs, lol. C'mon lil sam, stop being spineless for once and make some predictions by responding to the questions below:
Yes, Morey has a bad habit of disrespecting existing players while chasing players. But we did essentially trade two 2nd round picks for KJ so they see something in him. I think the main reasons he sat on the bench were due to the following and not so much from lack of skill. 1. Being a Rookie 2. Being in a position where we had depth 3. McHale not trusting him yet We basically have more invested in KJ than Smith so I would have hoped Smith would have understood the business side of this game.
Wanna bet? You find a post of mine calling Smith a thug who we shouldn't sign last year, you win, I leave the BBS forever. I find a post of mine saying the opposite, I win, you leave the BBS forever. C'mon Kwame the Gamblin' man - you can write the next verse of your epic song for me if you accept.
We saw firsthand what JSmith brings to the table - as he helped us make the WCF for the first time in forever... vs another possible TWill scenario....
Just answer the questions so we can get you on record making some predictions. C'mon lil sam for once stop being spineless. Also, thanks for death sentence for KJ McDaniels.
Yeah I kinda knew the Gambler knew when to fold them. Enjoy, just for you: I often get crunked by SAM He KNOWS that my POSTs are a SHAM I always get BURN-ed Yet I never LEARN I'm Kwame da GAMB-lin MAN!!!
The Rockets have made me their b**** I lost more than Bi-ll Fitch I just keep on sayin' I got to keep playin' And Kwame will one day be rich!
Yes, your first part is likely right, I would feel disrespected if I was Smith. As for flexibility, it likely has to something to do with going for Durant. I do not know anything for the cap, but signing MaDaniles may give the rockets a better chance to get Durant.
Anyone here mind posting the Kevin Pelton article about the impact of Smoove's signing with the Clippers?
Seconded - my friend would relentlessly trash Smith while I pointed out that he had his warts but was an overall positive, and the tiebreaker was supposed to be Pelton via chat but he never answered!
I'm sure Pelton's point is, Smoove is a clear upgrade over their big rotation last year(especially defensively) and his versatility to play 2 or 3 different positions is needed for a team that has struggled with depth issues.
Answer the questions and your summer league ticket today is on me. I might also buy you a bottle of liquor, which I know is important to you or pay for your AA class, which should be important to you.
I agree with you that Jones is better than Smith. I wouldn't mind having both though. We can trade Jones for a point guard and still have depth at power forward with Motie and Smith. But, we can't do that with Smith and keep Motie and Jones. Wish we could. With Smith walking, it makes Jones less available for trading.
Doesn't change the calculus - you just move Harrell up or play some smaller lineups. Jones was worthless in the postseason, with a neutral or negative VORP most of the way. He's an Enes Kanter, meaningless stats but useless when it counts. I was hyped for the second coming of TJ going into the postseason and then was unsurprisingly let down by his lackluster play. Smith wasn't great - especially vs GSW - but he was definitely better. Would love it if Harrell or this Alan Williams kid quickly developed into a backup PF so we can move Jones and go with D Mo. Can only afford to pay one of the two when they come off their rookie scale contracts anyway.
Silly Kwame da Gamblin' Man - I will lodge my official Rockets prediction as we get closer to the season. When your boys at Vegas had them at 49.5 last year, here's what I had them at in October: Guess I was off. lol.
