If Lawson could come to the rockets with his head together on a veteran team he throws them over the top. Harden will just go off on the league unreal with Lawson feeding him and the front court will get dramatically better.

Well they could always package something like Kostas and his non-guaranteed deal, Jones, Dorsey, and Prigioni for Lawson. It would leave a bit of a hole at backup PF till Harrell gets good enough to not be THAT much of a liability but you could use a lot of small ball or pick up a FA PF to fill that hole and I think the team would end up better overall.

Cool but I'm not a fan of Harrell, well not a fan really of any non shooter at the PF spot. But that's just me.

Those are not just elite offensive players, those are your MVP candidates of the ENTIRE LEAGUE. Lawson is averages practically a double-double and has been 3rd in assists the past two years in a row. That's on a horrible Denver team with poor everything including shooters and finishers. On Houston, he assists could actually go up very easily. He is an elite offensive player by all measures. He is not an MVP candidate because he lacks on defense.

Hey I'm right there with you on that, but we could also use small ball lineups with Ariza or Dekker at the 4 when you want shooting.

Harrell has a nice jumper, I see him becoming more of a Carl Landry with hops then Faried or Dorsey

Just to throw the nba trade machine out there.... Prigs, kostas, Dorsey, and Terrence jones would work for Lawson......and be a fair price to get Harden help and upgrade the team. Point goes from so so to a team strength.

What FA PF could the Rockets pick up for the minimum in order to replace Jones if he is traded? With Smith going to LAC I am concerned with the PF depth if they trade Jones.

I think the best option for Houston would be to help Sacramento trade for Lawson and try to nab Collison in the process.

    Something like...

    Hou In:
    Collison

    Denver In:
    McLemore
    Papa
    Pig
    A Rockets pick or two

    Sac In:
    Lawson

Hopefully, Sac values Lawson that much...

Boozer, Arthur, Hayes, Hansbrough, Seraphin are all decent available options, most of that group would likely take min.

Boozer could be get-able for a portion of the MLE.

    Here's one hypothetical:

Trade Papa, Prigs, TJones, Dorsey, and cash ($1.5) for Lawson. Maybe include the NYK 2nd.

Sign KJ to a 2 year $5 million deal ($2.5 per)
Sign Montrezl to a 4 year $4 million deal ($1 per)
Sign Boozer to a 1 year $2 million deal

    Lawson / Beverley / Johnson
    Harden / Thornton / McDaniels
    Ariza / Brewer / Dekker
    DMo / Boozer / Montrezl
    Dwight / Capela / Hayes

This thing is going to take a long while to finish. Quite likely more than a month.
And we already have people making "predicions" and sources.

I tell you that the Denver FO is very very patient. They don't panic.

So.....kinda the opposite of clutchfans, then?

Btw: Yes, I'm sure they're patient, and they won't make a crappy deal. But they'll probably want Lawson off their plate before they start trying to woo season ticket holders for the upcoming season. Better than some sweaty-smiled explanation: "As for Ty Lawson, well, yes, he's still here, but we're working really hard to find him a new home."

They do have to feel pretty damned good about Mudiay. I know Summer League is Summer League, but looks like the top teams whiffed on him.

Would wearing the continuous alcohol monitoring device affect his game? Would it even be legal to play with given the NBA's jewelry ban?

    Update:

Jesse Paul of the Denver Post has an update on Ty Lawson's court case that will go on today in Colorado for the DUI he allegedly received earlier this year:

Embattled Nuggets' point guard Ty Lawson is due in Denver court Friday afternoon for a hearing that could include discussion on whether he'll be ordered to submit to continuous alcohol monitoring.

Citing Lawson's Los Angeles drunken driving arrest earlier this week, Denver prosecutors filed a motion Tuesday to require him to use a monitoring device as part of bond conditions in a drunk driving case he is facing in the Mile High City.

Friday's hearing was scheduled before the motion was filed, but prosecutors say it could be addressed at the hearing.

Lawson was charged with driving under the influence in Denver after he was pulled over in January driving 61 mph in a 35 mph zone on Park Avenue West, police said.

He posted bond in that case and was banned from alcohol consumption, and agreed to monitored sobriety.

"The people request that the court modify the conditions of (Lawson's) bond given his failure to comply with the conditions," the motion said.

And as you see in this article by Mannix they are already working. Mannix is pretty reliable source, and this was fed to him directly from them.
