This move is a no brainer if Morey can make it happen reasonably. Everyone knows this team needs to get better at PG, and Lawson is one or two tiers above anyone on the team at that position.

No his situation and character isn't ideal at the moment, but as we've seen over the past few seasons, upgrading at the pg position isn't an easy task. I trust that Morey will make the right move.

If Lawson is bought out then Denver still owes the bulk portion of his contract after he resigns with another team. So why not do a trade where Denver still takes on at least half of his salary? Denver would benefit from this and get something in return, and Houston would get their PG

"Lawson identified himself as an NBA player with the Nuggets to the CHP officer, the department said. He was arrested without incident."

The REAL reason why he was hauled off to jail in LA

    Yes.

But you forgot the last few games of the WCF. Instead of taking the most important games of his life seriously, he was partying in Las Vegas. Everbody just wished he could have concentrated on the game and maybe waited until after the series to party.

Again a lot of that was based on a tweet, which it later turned out wasn't real. He did go to the Drake concert in Houston I believe (was also reported in the media) - that was before game 4, which happened to be one heck of a game. So again, let the guy do what he needs to do. Maybe it helped him forget about basketball for a few hours and refocus.

Nobody knows for certain if he went out prior to game 5. He had a bad game, it happens, END OF STORY!!!

Not allowed in the CBA since it's a salary cap league. Teams are limited to a certain amount of cash they can give to make a trade happen each year as well.

Baseball allows a team to pick up as much of an outgoing salary as a team wants to facilitate a trade. In football, the CBA there stipulates that a team trading a player is still on the hook for the prorated portion of the bonus on a players contract while the team receiving the player is responsible for the base compensation.

They do if they include Dekker. Can't happen until early August, but agreeing to a deal now and simply waiting until the 30-day clock expires for its rubber stamp is becoming common, like Love/Wiggins a year ago.

I've been on the fence about Lawson.

Then Mike James and Skip to My Lou came to mind and I'm warming to the idea.

Neither were choirboys. James had his ego, and Alston his streetball rep and fighting edge.

Harden seems to know how to party and stay in his lane at the same time. I also feel like Lawson can grow up a bit here, the way Josh Smith did.

Just my 2 cents. I'll sleep better if we make the trade for him.

People acting like we have all the time in the world to compete. Trust the culture these team has built to alter his attitude.

    Lawson/Beverly
    Harden/Terry/Thornton
    Ariza, Brewer
    Dmo, Jones
    Howard, Capela

Fits a need, improves a weakness, maintain flexibility with match-ups. If Lawson misbehaves he knows we have a capable starter ready to step in.

I do wonder about Lawson. Obviously there is talent. But, how deep does his drinking run. Does he like to go out here and there and tie one on or is he a heavy drinker. Booze will take its toll.
Go take a look at how Vin Baker started off so promissing and how his career stats went in the toilet. Ty's troubles are eerily similar to Vin's

Yup $12/yr is a bargain for a quality PG. This is a high-risk high-reward move and the high risk is not the money. Hope being on a contender and winning can help him change.

Uh, no he wasn't. Iguodala and Gallinari were the two best players on that team. Let's not overrate Lawson; he's around the 11th best PG in the league or so.

if we do get him i don't think he will start over Bev. He should come off the bench. Now he should play more minutes than Bev but i would like him better with the second unit with Harden.
