    Is this a "sign-and-trade"?
So, what will we get from this trade?

How can they afford to keep Crawford?

Doesn't appear to be a sign and trade

So what do we have to look forward to next season? Still no PG. Down Jsmith. We are worse.

I am happy Josh was part of last year's team and he definitely won us some games but honestly I am glad he is gone. I really couldn't handle the inconsistency, the dumb turnovers, the dumb shots, the bad free throw shooting, etc. I was always on the fence about wanting him back so not really concerned. I am concerned that Morey had not found us another point guard, bUT I'll wait till November to see if anything happens.

I'm not sure what we would have to trade but there's still a lot of time for Morey to fix the roster

    We don't need Josh.

Hayes, Dekker, Harrell, Williams, Capela, Jones and DMo are more than enough to fill the minutes at PF.

Josh gave me shades of Jeremy Lin w/ how inconsistent he could be within the span of 48 minutes. When he was good, he was very, very good... and when he was bad, he was horrid. I routinely cursed him TF out one quarter and convinced myself he was robbed -- ROBBED! -- for 6 MOY the very next quarter. I'll miss him, but maybe I'll be less emotionally spent on game days. (Probably not.)

    1. Calm down.

    2. Read my Sig.

    3. Trust the GM who's both smarter and more successful than you. He knows what he's doing, and his hits far outnumber his misses.

    A bit reactionary.

    1. Smith took the vet minimum. Don't know how much cheaper you can get than that. It's not like he had much value on the open market. No one even willing to offer a MLE.

    2. Smith wants a "refined" role behind Paul, Griffin, Jordan, Pierce, and Stephenson. Good luck with that after all the b****ing Jordan just did about getting more shots and touches. I'm sure Doc Rivers will be just as accommodating as McHale when it come to playing without accountability.

    3. Rockets acquired a former team cancer with a toxic contract for absolutely nothing, allowed him to flourish in a role with zero accountability, and let him leave before he got toxic again. What's makes you think we can't do just that again?

Your sig is the reason why Morey frustrates me. Having 3 stars isn't the best way to win. Having a complete team is. Just look at the Spurs and Warriors.

Wow, a big shock. I can't believe that he'd leave for LESS money after the season he had with us and how happy he was. It makes no sense at all. Crowded front court he was a key piece of this team and would have gotten the necessary PT to set him up big time.

Can't believe Morey didn't try harder to keep him here. Just very surprising.

He signed for 2.5M, I doubt Morey can lowball him more than that lol. The fact is Smith wanted to go to the Clippers and play for them over returning to the Rockets. The kind of assumptions people are making here are ridiculous, Morey can't lowball someone lower than the vet min.

As for JSmith he was definitely instrumental last year however the Rockets are really the only team that can make full use of his skills and overlook his faults, goodluck if he can actually become a big contributor on the Clipps.

You think the Rockets arent trying to have a complete team? They basically spent all their money trying to keep key guys around whats frustrating about that? In this case JSmith took less money than what we have available to go to the Clippers what does losing him have to do with having a 3rd star?

Josh Smith said he took less money because he wants to play for contender.. so that either means Morey doesn't want him or he clearly doesn't believe we are true contenders.

People are forgetting how bad our injuries were last year. DMo, Dwight, Jones all missed significant time. If you account for Capella possibly emerging, Josh Smith would've fought hard for minutes here. In LA he gets all the backup big minutes and get himself a nice juicy long term deal next offseason. My guess is that Morey and McHale can't guarantee him PT and Clippers can.

I don't blame Josh Smith for leaving, appreciated his time here, and I have no doubt that short of catastrophic injuries again, we would not lose anything with him gone.
