The one guy that could hang with Griffin and bother him with his speed and athleticism. The only one that could slow down LMA with his length and athleticism and the guy that single handedly destroyed the Mavs front court last year. He's no longer here and he left for a million bucks less? Unbelievable.

Can't wait for Griffin, LMA, Zbo Etc to going back to taking Jones to the back of the woodshed again. ****!!!

The fact that a minimum deal is the best he could get, in an offseason where everybody and their mother is getting paid, tells me just how highly the league thinks of Josh Smith.

Yeah. I'm not sure why people on here are acting like he was hardly worth anything last year. He's a big loss. Not a death sentence, but between him and Jones? Looks grim.

    Clippers ass-kissers :p,

You've probably been kissing Clippers ass since they've drafted Blake Griffin years ago. Last 4 years they've been put in the NBA "final four" by the media and you ass-kissers alike, despite doing diddly-squat! Not with Donald Sterling, not with Steve Ballmer, not with Vinny Del Negro, not with Doc Rivers, not with Chris Paul, not with Blake Griffin, not with DeAndre Jordan. 1 first round exit, 3 second round exits. Here come you ass-kissers again, ready to anoint them and place them in the final four again!

P.S.: Go listen to that J.J. Redick interview with Zach Lowe.

Do you feel you guys belong in the conversation or you have to re-prove yourselves [after the Houston debacle]?

I do feel that way [we have to prove ourselves]. We haven't done anything as a group. As a team, if you can get to the Conference Finals, then you say we have a chance and we're a contender. We're not in that group yet. We have enough to be in that group. You have to put Houston in that group. We have a lot to prove.

We're on a championship run and ya'll are really hoping one of our rookies break out?LMAO Josh was huge. He can defend several elite bigs in the west. Something Terence Jones can't do. Now we're left with a bunch of young bigs who never had amazing playoffs beast mode, and Dwight... I sure hope Morey has something amazing planned to get another defensive athletic big and another playmaker. Chuck Hayes is not better than Josh Smith. I'm a little heartbroken right now. We are going the Mavs path, this is like when they let go of Tyson Chandler TWICE.

If we re-sign him, media = doesn't move needle. Clips sign him = huge move.

But honestly, I now feel as if he had no intention on staying, since he took the vet minimum to be a backup to a 36 min/game player. Also, he had infinite freedom here.

Sad day for us, but he clearly didn't want to stay, time to move on, and now seems as if we can't trade jones, sad day indeed.

We didn't have Smith of Brewer at this point last season.

If Morey makes no more moves this has been a poor offseason, but the offseason isn't over. Still plenty of time to address roster, and even more time between now and the playoffs next season.

He got his feelings hurt that we didn't want to pay him, he thought he was worth more. Hit the open market, and found out we were right, he wasn't worth much. Instead of coming back here, he chose to go to the Clippers to spite us.

Not a big loss, he's not that good. His market value proved that.

Took less money to go to the clippers?
    That's fine.

I'm just happy we still got TJones and Dmo.
Let's not act like those two are scrubs.

    We still got the MLE.
    Morey has earned my trust.
Just like we got Smith....we can get somebody else.

No seals were clubbed in this post..jk

Seriously, that dude is winner in the playoffs, yeah he is unpredictable and little crazy

I posted before that it felt like the Artest signing all over again

Artest, went on deep playoff run, then went to LA team, and championship -- boom

    Morey, Joke's on you.

Maybe they remember watching huge leads disappear while he chucked up terrible shot after terrible shot and clanked free throw after free throw

Lol clutchfans is so hilarious. As soon as someone leaves, "we don't need him anyways not a big deal blah blah blah". No Smith isn't valued around the league, but he was a lot more valuable in our system then he was to a lot of other teams. The world isn't over now that he's gone but don't start acting like he wasn't a big part of our team especially in the playoffs. I'm riding with DM regardless but this has not been a good off-season

One thing Smith definitely couldn't do was hang with Griffin.

Gotta love their potentia. I think Williams could make thw squad now ala Tarik Black. Once Harrell gets the schemes down, you can pencil him in for a roster spot. Woods needs time in the d- league but he too should be thrown into the fire at some point around break. My point is, they should throw these guys out there and dont look back. They cant afford to sit on this type of potential like they did Capela last season. All three of the rookie bigs are known for some type of defensive ability. Whether it be post defense, steals, blocking shots and in a couple of cases perimeter defense. Use that.
Finally, Royce White without his condition would be a much better player than he is turning out to be.

The only explanation is Smith must have felt slighted when we signed Brewer and Bev for 7-8M a year while we were not giving him the full MLE.

So much for continuity, we lost a major piece. Will Howard play in the regular season? we have to hope the youngsters--Capela, Dekker, Harrell, Williams (assuming we sign him)--grow up fast.
