Sought more defined role/playing time than Rockets had with their young bigs to set up next year FA, per source. https://t.co/p0xMwDv5Lj
I'm glad there are so many mind readers and power ranking experts on Clutchfans . I was feeling a bit lost as to why smith would leave I'm glad I can come here and find out his deepest inner thoughts and why he was insulted . You guys are right Morey is a hack !!! We will be no better than the 6th seed in the west and are destined for a first round exit . What a crappy franchise ! To those that found my crappy attempt at sarcasm funny thanks for reading . I might make an actual informative thread later but right now the idiots are reigning supreme and any attempts to educate them will prolly result in failure.
Uh oh, this will piss off those who hate #flexibility!

Sought more defined role/playing time than Rockets had with their young bigs to set up next year FA, per source. https://t.co/p0xMwDv5Lj
— Jonathan Feigen (@Jonathan_Feigen) July 17, 2015
Rockets wanted him at their price ($2.5M), not a penny more and would/could not guarantee a defined role. Wasn't going to start and probably had to battle with Jones. Don't disagree with them not wanting to pay more (I wouldn't either) but having to battle Capela, Jones & Harrell for playing time? I'd be on my way too.
I feel much worse than what I thought after hearing this. Morey was showing no respect to Josh Smith, even table tennis has higher priority. SMH...
Well with Dekker, there wasn't enough room for Josh. Josh has one too many bone headed plays and actually made the series worst before going on a good performance streak. Think about it that way.
flexibility is cool and all but if we miss out again next year, morey will have some explaining to do.
To me losing smith from a talent perspective hurts but not that bad. We're still ok at the 4. The bigger loss is that by losing him, we lose the freedom to trade jones. Losing smith means losing a valuable trade chip in Jones. Can we get another player to fill the void? Maybe, but we just lost an asset no matter which way you look at it.
Biggest hope with this move is that the Clippers don't know how to handle him as well as the Rockets and his good-to-bad-play ratio goes way negative.
I am not sure about this, if a player is asking for a starting role or committed playing time, who's call would that be in the f.o.? The GM or the Head coach?
We had the MLE refused to offer it ot him. We made him wait and wait for KJ. The man got tired, saw that he had to wait even more to clear up the pf rotation and went to another contender. Sux.
