The list of performance of former Rockets aren't really that pretty if you will look at the facts.

    Chuck Hayes
    Marcus Morris
    and so on.

And even people will like to dramatize the value of Dragic and Lowry, they both have a very good season in 2013-2014 after their team sucked pretty hard the first year they joined.

But in 2014-2015, both had a down year, Dragic isn't really helping any of the 2 teams he played to reach the playoff and Lowry actually is one of the worse PG in the league last season in the second half.

Dwight and Smoove are both FA after this season. Deron Williams is already in Dallas. So is Parsons, lol. Just something to keep an eye on.

Yes I stated earlier we take him on the cheap, no doubt. Sounds like he would have got more money from us overall. That leaves his actual role as the issue. Morey was honest with him and Smith moved on.

Worse NOW doesn't actually mean anything. The roster will evolve. Guys will improve. The offense is rumored to be getting new wrinkles.

I see Thorton as a decent playmaker. We need to add another playmaker to get more than we had last year. I fully believe Morey will get that other playmaker at some point. It just too late for the fans that are already "punching someone in the face".

Wow. Not a devastating loss, but it feels bad.
Like a vote of no-confidence from Smith.

Well, so much for playing with your best friend in the world, playing on a contender, making a few extra bucks, not paying state income tax and playing for the first coach who ever understood you on a team that breathed new life back into your career.

    So much for that...

Dwight told his best friend Josh Smith he's leaving as soon as he gets a chance.

Smith left for a defined role...it's not that Morey didn't want to try harder, he just couldn't, unless he lied to Smith and guaranteed him a role. Smith knows Houston is trying to make a deal for a starting 4. That's what he was worried about, not rookies.

    If I am a bettor,

I would definitely putting my money on a guy that Morey find than the guy he will let go.

He has proven excellent records of finding guys like Parsons, Bev, Dragic, Lowry, and its vastly better than the guys he let go and done later for their new teams.

This hurts because its the Clippers. We had a guy that could guard BG, now they're on the same team. Their off season went from terrible, to probably the best in the league. They have personalities that may clash (Smoove, Stevenson, CP3 all have strong personalities, and DJ was promised more touches). The guy I think who will be the best locker room presence is Pierce, I think he may get them all to work together to win. Retaining DJ, getting Pierce, Stevenson, and Smith sounds like a great off-season. I'm not sure how they did it, but Doc the GM may get some credit finally.

That team wouldn't scare me at all. Three years ago, maybe. Also, at this stage of his career, whether Dwight realizes this or not, he needs the rockets more than the rockets need him.
