I'd be stunned if he was moved before the season opener. We still don't know D-Mo's status until he actually plays. And we have no idea what Harrell or Dekker will bring to the table.

Optimistically if the Rockets can find a vet to be our 3rd string PF(Boozer, Hayes), D-Mo can return to full health, and Harrell can emerge as a quality backup, then maybe T-Jones becomes expendable mid-season if a decent PG is suddenly available.

But that's best case scenario. Personally I think we're stuck with T-Jones all season and will have to replace him next summer when we inevitably let him walk rather than overpay to keep him.

It all hinges on DMo's health and McHale just playing the dude, even when he struggles. Last year, Smith played time that really shouldn't have been available. With both Jones and DMo ready to go, Smith's loss shouldn't be that big of a deal. Smith knew he was gonna have to compete for time at what is pretty much a position of strength, provided Dmo and Jones and healthy.

    But the Rockets and injury....

I kinda get your argument, and I kinda appreciate it b/c it's the only thing that seemed like it had the potential to lessen the blow, but..........

There's no mistaking it - Lowry and Dragic have been way better than any PG Morey has scrounged up.

Dorsey hardly even played!! how can it be a mistake if he hardly played!!?? Dorsey actually won the Rockets ONE game against Memphis because Dwight couldn't guard Gasol.

I don't count hypothetical signings mistakes. You have no idea how well IT would have played as a Rocket.

How plain could McHale make it when he said he wasn't going to go another year with all bad foul shooting big men?

If playing time was the issue and the Rockets had wanted to keep Smith, they would have made him the same vague promise the Clips did.

I'd guess Josh's plan is to get playing time on a champion and cash in one last big contract next year. He's betting on himself but I think he will be wrong; on playing time and a big contract.

How ugly a game would it be to hack Jordan and Smith (I guess as ugly as Howard and Smith.. but that was ugly)

They won't play....unless McHale has no choice.

One injury to Jones or Dmo and one of those Rooks is getting minutes. If Morey wants these guys on the court then not overly exerting himself to keep Smoove is a way to bump these guys up the rotation. That does sound a little underhanded though.
