Talk about being consistent after being thrown in the mix of playoff positioning in the middle of the season.I think he was more than what we needed, off the bench, at a very important time in our run before the playoffs.

This news isn't exactly helping me relax on my vacation. Thanks, Josh. At least I won't have to watch him brick free throws. All I can assume is that Morey has a plan to upgrade what Smith brought us. Fingers crossed, for sure. Now where did I put my cervesa? Hell, I need to switch to Ritas now. Damn.

Uh, Goran Dragic? We could go way way back and include James Posey, but that was another era.

Not only do you lose a key player but you directly strengthen a rival WC team, one tha will be battling for HCA throughout

Last I checked the playoffs count.

Rockets were down 1-3 to the Clippers in the playoffs with Terrence Jones starting at PF and were about to lose the series.

McHale inserted Josh Smith as the team's starting PF for Game 5 and the Rockets blew the Clippers away winning 3 straight to take the series 4-3.

    Also consider this:

He signed a one year deal to play for a contender and is promised a big and define role.

That sounds like a guy that wants to continue to rehab his image and cash in next summer.

    More power to you, Smoove

Team we beat in the playoffs is the one that attracts tons of FA's to get the over the hump. Disappointing.

Might be true. But you can't disagree that he was a great value for the price. We could have retained him and still gotten a better 2nd playmaker. It's not a one or the other choice. We are undoubtedly worse now.

That's the part that stings the most. The Rockets had the exact same record as the Clippers last year and only had home court because they won their division. In other words, it literally came down to one game like say for example that OT win in Memphis. You know, Josh Smith's first game as a Rocket where he dominated?

Maybe the Clippers may play Josh Smith at SF. That is the only way he would get more playing time there than here.

People flipped out over the non signing of Parsons. I think we can survive not re-signing Smith.
