Well, he can't possibly cost more than the MLE, and most likely will cost much less than that. I think if he pans out, Brewer is moved.
Not necessarily. Trade could be consumed without McDaniels and then Morey not match his offer sheet the other team signs him to. Not really. Morey isn't going to ruin his today with other teams by not following through and matching.

It sounds scary, but if this is Morey's plan from the get go when the trade was made, that explain perfectly he is not getting any minutes to play, so that we can lower his price tag. I don't really believe that, but that's a possibility.
I'm thinking Ariza may be one his way out. Why else use our full MLE on KJ instead of using it to pursue Smith to stay? We resigned Brewer with 8 million, are going to sign KJ with a full MLE, we already have signed Thornton, Terry is believed to be returning...what are we doing?
If this is true, then that only means Morey has a deal in place for Ariza. Otherwise this doesn't make much sense.
I don't know man while KJ has potential. We're supposed to be in win now mode, KJ seems more of a project to me. We should be using the money on someone that can help us win now.
Its not scary it's stupid. Just like Paps and lucky we dodged the Lullz bullet. But some idiot is going to say its for a bigger plan
I saw a guy that looks like he can play NBA man-to-man and help defense versus college. He would be probably around the 15th pick if the NBA redrafted. Still has a high chance of being nothing special, but he still could be something very good.
Yeah because us using our MLE on KJ completely adds up and doesn't signify some sort of trade. Look at our wing depth Harden / Thornton / Terry Ariza / Brewer / Dekker / Papaniko Where is the space for KJ? What part of giving him our full MLE adds up? If we're giving KJ a big MLE deal, it will either signify a trade with one of our wings, or his contract will be a trade contract like Papanikolaou's. There's no reason to offer KJ a big contract otherwise.
The only way spending the MLE on KJ makes sense to me is to use him as a papanikolau type trade piece to match salaries.
When u wait this long and other players are off the board you just do whatever with the money and hope it works just like PAP last yr. Still remember people were saying they would trade him but for a star at beginning of last yr so maybe KJ can be the same person all year
I don't see where he fits in this roster unless Morey is sending out a ridiculous package for someone... Harden/Thornton/Johnson Ariza/Brewer/Dekker
