Yes, that's true of all great players. They have to have a great team to win. Can't win it by yourself.

If that is the case then I'll take all these role players:

    1. Michael Jordan
    2. Melo Anthony

    And many others................

So how are we going to fix his finishing? Just demand that he don't drive into the paint?

A season prior that he was 17% from 10 to 16 and 30% from 16 to 3-pt and finished way better while he had Love alongside.

He can be a so-so finisher with Harden, Howard, D-Mo and all the attention to them.

And with his shooting improvement even slightly, like it is throught this years, he can be good there.

Encourage him to seek more contact and get to the FT line even more than he already does...which is a lot. ;)

What data are you looking at? It's an honest question because I see he only gets 3-4 FT attempts per game. Not exactly the Harden or Maggette of point guards.

His finishing stats are also somewhat imposing, very much because of transition game.

Rubio is always passing on transition for a players that can either hit three or finish strong at the rim with and-one possibility, so he often passes on opportunities that may easily increase his FG% percentage.

Alongside Harden and D-Mo passing under the rim from anywhere on the court and with less attempts his numbers will rise eventually, but I don't think he can make way over 50% of his attempts at the rim, because he can dunk and he's ALWAYS, I MEAN ALWAYS looking for a drive-and-kick pass while he's driving to the rim, so he's just not looking for his shot in that situations.

He was 49% under the rim with Love in 13/14, much more athletic (but injured) Beverley was 50.5 this year, while shooting 38% from the floor and we were relevant. Also Bev has no mid-range game, doesn't even looking for it.

So, if he could return to his 13/14 numbers which is possible, we may be good with him/

Do not Bricky Rubio. You guys got upset when Bev went in his slump. Wait to see Rubio. He is by FAR the NBA's best bricklayer

    FTr

Ricky is over 43% for his career. That's outstanding and he's gonna get even higher as he ages.

If we're going by pickup games, I can think of a few Houston area ballers the Rockets could grab without having to pay them 12 million.

This is the one guy I hope the Rockets do NOT go for!! He has been playing professional basketball since he was 16 or so and has been in the NBA for several years now.

Funny how some guys keep making excuses for him (and bash guys like Terrence _ones)...enough with making excuses for this guy already.

I just don't see his jumpshot improving ever. He is bad at finishing at the rim and doesn't get to the line much. Sure he is a good playmaker, but without the ball in his hands he is useless. He will always be a liability on offense. Basically you will be playing 4 on 5, because who in their right mind will focus on guarding Rubio?

His defense is above average, but nothing I would consider great. Add to that, that he can't stay healthy and his contract..not something you want.

If the Rockets really want to trade for him (PLEASE DON'T), he better come really cheap! Doubt Minnesota will give him up for peanuts though. But kudos to Minnesota; I guess even they have finally figured out that he is not worth his contract and will never amount to anything more than an average player at best - took them long enough!

Gotta give glory to God first of all. And also have to credit my teammates - they found me when I was open. Just happy I could contribute to that W. It was a big win, but the season is a marathon not a sprint, so I didn't let myself get carried away.

Do you think you could defend Steph Curry in the WCF? Aw hell, just sign on the dotted line, I'm sold already.

The last few hours of this thread seem to really be all about what Rubio can't do. What positive things could he bring to the team if we traded for him?

Running an offense. Setting up teammates. Fast break decion making and excellent court vision.
