From what I recall.... Hakeem and his girlfriend, Lita Spencer, went in to a 7-11. Lita was in line waiting to pay for whatever she was getting. Hakeem picked up some items too but instead of waiting in line, he walked up to the clerk and threw money on the counter. After Hakeem walked out the clerk said "what an *******". Lita went out and told the Hakeem what the clerk said and Hakeem went back in to confront the clerk.

Hakeem also kicked his brother's ass in the parking lot of the Summmit. I think it had to do with something with the brother wanting to borrow Hakeem's car.

Hakeem assaulted a TV camera man at an apartment where Lita was living. I was friends with the guy who owned the service station around the corner from her apartment. The guy always talked about how unpleasant Hakeem was.

people kinda forget that Hakeem had a temper. They talk about it in the new Clutch City documentary. They made it seem like he was a lot more even keeled after converting to Islam.

So Hakeem is being compared to an alcoholic now? That's what we're doing here?

That's still a possibility. And one reason why Markieff doesn't have any trade value right now. As for Marcus, he was traded along with Danny Granger and Reggie Bullock (a promising young 3&D swingman on a rookie deal). If Marcus goes to jail and his deal is voided, Detroit doesn't lose anything besides his contract off the books. They gave up a 2020 second rounder for a player on a rookie deal who could turn out to be a rotation 3&D wing (Bullock).

So it was a riskless transaction for Detroit. It's not like they'll have to eat Morris' contract if he's found guilty of a felony and sent to prison. THey'll be off his deal.

Allison. Hi. Uh--listen: I'm really sorry about what happened at the game last night. Listen--could I have a ticket tonight--'cause

the Rockets are in town an' that, Hakeem Olajuwon? Ohhh--he's got a real attitude.
    Rudy has that one covered.

Les loves animals. If TJones had stomped on a stray dog instead of a homeless man, he would no longer be on this team.

My understanding is Lawson got out by posting bail. You want to know the quickest way to jail, you break the terms of your bail. Nothing pisses off a judges faster than breaking their court orders.

Not only did he break those terms merely by drinking, but he got another DUI. In Colorado, they test you for alcohol on bail like that. And they will out you back in jail until the completion of your case.

I feel like Lawson would be cancerous for our locker room.
It would be a shame to ruin the special chemistry demonstrated by the guys this season.

That special chemistry didn't get us a ring. Leslie Alexander has balls and has taken risks in the past. I'd think he'd be willing to take one with Lawson.

This is the same franchise that traded for Ron Artest.

Ron Artest was never a cancer on any team he ever played for. And the rockets picked him up several years after is non criminal offense

Lawson is completely disrespecting the orders of a judge in a criminal case. He will be punished for that

You cannot compare the two. Lawson is in direct violation of his court orders. He will be going to court today in Denver for his first DUI. The judge has the authority to put him in jail tomorrow. That is what would happen to everyone else. He might get off with alcohol ankle bracelet and no ability to leave Colorado for anything other than business.

Trust me. I live in Colorado. DUI in a snow and ice state with this many treacherous Mtn roads, the judge will be the worst judge Lawson can face in the US. CO does not like this

I say get Lawson. I'm about getting rings and so is Leslie. Fk being a boy scout how everyone wants him to be. No one is perfect in here.

Sounds nice until that non-boy scout reminds everyone just what a locker room cancer is. Don't underestimate the ability of a head-case to tear a team apart from the inside.

Denver will unload Ty Lawson sooner or later at a very cheap price. The question for us, are we willing to take on his baggage?

There is not a better organization then the Houston Rockets and staff such as Mr. John Lucas to support and guide Lawson to build his life towards a more positive direction. Of course an NBA Championship wouldn't hurt either ;) An important question is whether Morey can minimize the teams financial risk and maintain roster/salary cap flexibility for such a very talented but risky/controversial baller.

I think you're right that Artest was not a problematic player at least by the time we got him (though the fact that we let him walk for free that offseason might make one wonder). But it's kinda hilarious to see you try to minimize his offense -- he charged into the stands and assaulted fans. He got off easy. Sure, DUIs are irresponsible and can get someone killed. But charging into stands and punching spectators can also get someone killed.

I think people are focusing entirely too much on what 'evidence' the 2 DUIs bring to judging whether he'll be a responsible member of the team. It's a datapoint, and it backs up what people have heard about his attitude in the Denver lockerroom. But, it's getting a little overboard with people declaring him the antichrist because of 2 DUIs. The state of Colorado needs to deal with those. But, the Rockets should be more concerned with the tapestry of his behavior and not just a couple of DUIs. If Shane Battier got 2 DUIs in 6 months, people would be surprised and concerned and maybe would condemn him for it, but they wouldn't declare him a lockerroom cancer over just that.

drunk drivers does get people killed I would say at least in the 1,000s every year around the world.. charging into stands and having an altercation has not resulted to any death yet or at least that's rare..

having multiple DUIs means your either an alcoholic, extremely irresponsible, or completely dumb..

It got us too the WC finals against the champs with two starters sidelined. I just don't like this move and from what I've read Morey is not high on Lawson as a player and how he fits with Rockets moving pieces.
