Lawson and Smoove were an apples to apples comparison until yesterday.

Now Lawson and Sanders are a more apt comparison.

I can't even put into words how baffling this entire conversation is.

"His game doesn't compliment Harden's because he plays no defense"

srry but James Harden isn't the best defender in the world either. sry sry sry

"Dellavedova would be a much better fit"

Okay so you want a scrub next to Harden that ONLY hustles and doesnt score? And the occasional 3 pointer or drive to the lane is a BS floater or fading 3? K

    "Lawson has off-court issues"

Maybe if he plays for a contender, he'll shape up? What's the most we have to trade for him after he just got his 2nd DUI? Definitely not much.

"Sergio Llull has decided to stay in Madrid blah blah not coming to Houston"

*Majority of Clutchfans stands on bridges threatening to jump, other douse their PC/Laptop in gasoline proceeding to light it*
But yet Llull is an untested player, who's also WORSE than Lawson it?

My jaw is on the ground reading this entire thread

Ok, I'm still open to bringing in Lawson. But what people mean when they say this is that because Harden isn't a great defender, you can't have his backcourt mate be another guy who isn't a great defender, too. That would make for an entire backcourt of sub-par defenders, potentially.

That's what they mean...rather that's right or not can be debated, of course.

Ideally....if you bring Lawson in, have him run the bench unit. Let Bev start with Harden.

Not sure that's a feasible option, though.

Start Bev but have Lawson play more minutes. Like Isaiah Thomas.

Instant offense off the bench. Something the Rockets didn't have last year.

That's why you trade for him, so the Nuggets don't have to keep paying him

Agree. We need to bracket both Lawson and Harden with GREAT defenders. In fact if you look at this roster, Morey has spent a lot of assets signing good/great guard and wing defenders:

    Beverley
    Nick Johnson
    KJ McDaniels
    Brewer
    Ariza

    First Unit
    Beverley
    Harden
    Ariza
    DMo
    Dwight

    Second Unit
    Lawson
    KJ or Thornton
    Brewer
    Smith or TJones
    Capela

I don't think he'd mind coming off the bench if he got 25/30 minutes a game.

    Think again.
Esp if he has any choice where he will sign to.

I feel like Lawson is a basic btch and would tease Dwight and make him feel bad for being a lovable goofball.

I guess I'm speaking for myself.

If I came off the bench and had more minutes and produced more than the starting PG, I'd be completely happy.

    But that's just me.

Yes but you also seem to be a nice and logical person who also wouldnt sabotage his own team, fight with his coach, go party hard and come drunk to work, get multiple DUIs and run your mouth to the press.
