Chuck Hayes' wife moved to the Houston area several months ago, may five months ago. She and the rockets security guy with her said that he was coming back to the Rockets then. I didn't see how it could happen, but I guess it is.
He rebounds better than anyone on the team outside of Dwight, and plays better positional defense than anyone on the team. For a 3rd string insurance policy, I will take him. He would be a good locker room guy.
Man I love Chuck. That whole team was probably my favorite Rockets team as far as heart. They weren't the most talented but they came ready for a fight every game
True. That was one of my favorite Rockets team. At least my favorite one in the last 10 years for sure. Really represented what I thought every team needs: grit.
Love him but he's way passed it; he's declining fast. I don't see how he fits the team unless there is a big trade. Stay tuned...
Lowry Landry Scola Chuck AB Man I like this current team a lot. But THAT team is my favorite of any Rockets team outside of the championship teams. I remember when Carl Landry lost his tooth, and came back and helped us win (him punching the basket after the game lol). Then that time KG was egging on Chuck, and then got furious he couldn't score on him lol. Those were the good ol days (Almost teared up)
Chuck Hayes is 32, but his age matters not. Chuck's game does not rely on time-sensitive physical talents. We look to him not for his speed or leaping ability, but for those precious NBA attributes rarer than a ghost orchid - tenacity, toughness, and discipline. These are things that will last for as long as the lionheart in his chest beats.
Everyone here is still living in 2009, I loved chuckwagon's heart and all but he better not be brought in here to be a rotation player. He does nothing offensively and is undersized. At his age now he's not nearly the same player physically. At best, he's a situational defender, throw him in there to change things up. I don't see why everyone is so enthusiastic about this rumor.
Because people like to have players on the team that they actually enjoy rooting for. Chuck Hayes is a player that always has a positive impact on the game overall, even with his massive physical limitations. Nobody is under any delusions about what Chuck's role would be on this team. He would sit on the end of the bench, only playing due to injury or situational defensive assignment.
This is exactly what everyone is forgetting about the Chuck Wagon. He was never very athletic but he was incredibly strong and smart. That was why he was one of my favorite players on all of those teams. People forget just how good he was when he was being properly utilized. <iframe width="420" height="315" src="https://www.youtube.com/embed/B6f5Uyu6Dv4" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen></iframe>
Did you watch the Golden State series? We lost because we couldn't matchup when they went small. I have confidence in Chuck being able to match up with Draymond Green more than anybody on our current team
Funny; hoopshype's front page shows a picture of Chuck and "Houston reunion?" No offense to the Chuck Wagon, but you know it's a slow news day for the NBA if that's your click bait.
