Vacation Movie

i can't help but want that also. but it just looks

 

I was skeptical at first, but the trailers in the theater actually made it look good.

 

I just don't know.....it'd be great if it had any of the magic of the Chevy movies....

 

I have no issue with the concept of this movie, it just looks pretty unfunny to me. Hopefully I'll be surprised.

 

You'll be able to watch it on FX in like 6 months.

 

I hope the whole movie is not just meta references to the previous Chevy Chase movies. That will get old fast.

I do like the idea of just going full blown raunchy 'R' rated humor, though. The previous vacation movies had some adult type elements here and there but were pretty tame. Nothing in any of them like the rimjob joke from that trailer. Still not getting my hopes up, though.

 

I prefer the more nuanced raunch. I find it more clever....and that way my kids and I can each pretend we didn't really get the reference .

 

Eh....

Not too excited about this one. I like Ed Helms, but he seems to play the same character in every show/movie he's in.

And sadly, without the late-great Harold Ramis involved, it just won't be the same. His comic sensibility it what made the 1st one so great.

 

maybe it was just the nostalgia but i think it has potential.

 

I like the potential of the Christina Applegate - Ed Helms pairing. Just have to see if it works in the movie as can't tell from the trailer. My opinion is this film may work but is dependent on how much originality is in the new film versus how much borrowed retread they took from the other films. Like I said before, I think the new couple could work but, if the script sucks, nothing will save it.

 

I think I'll go back and just watch the original vacation.

This actually looks funny.

 

Yeah, Christina Applegate should play a more prominent funnier role than D'Angelo.

 

Want to see it.

 

Would be better with the real Rusty.

 

I'll watch it. But don't love the casting. Except for Charlie Day...and where is Cousin Eddie?

 

Ed Helms seems annoying.


Also, I hate when movies like this use hip hop music in their trailer in an "ironic" sort of way.

 

If he didn't look and sound like a corrupt police captain or a grizzled union boss nowadays, maybe.
