one leagues trash is another league's treasure. such is the case for joey dorsey. even after several years of basketball experience overseas he still remains at a trash level of talent in his second stint in the nba.

HOWEVER, he is an excellent big man in the euroleague, praised as one of the best defensive centers.

now ask yourself, is this the player you want harrell, or as you say - harzell, to grow into? the next joey dorsey? i most certainly hope not for his and your sake!

Dorsey does not play hard, and I don't think I ever saw him go scrap for rebounds/blocks/putbacks.

The highlights reminded me of a more athletic version of Carl Landry, or a poor man's Faried.

Kawhi Leonard's 6'7" with a 7'3" wingspan. If only Harrell's wingspan was one inch shorter, we'd have a finals MVP.

I have a feeling Daryl Morey knows where basketball is trending towards...

    THE 3 AND D PLAYER

“Not the superstar but the undervalued player.” Sifting the population of midlevel N.B.A. players, he came up with a list of 15, near the top of which was the Memphis Grizzlies’ forward Shane Battier. This perplexed even the man who hired Morey to rethink basketball. “All I knew was Shane’s stats,” Alexander says, “and obviously they weren’t great. He had to sell me. It was hard for me to see it.”

    The No Stats All-Star

    THE MULTIPLE POSITION DEFENDER

"...Harrell was routinely among the team leaders in deflections, a stat that Pitino famously keeps track of each game to measure the havoc that his defense has caused."

"Simply put, Harrell gives a damn on every single possession, and his physical versatility shines through on this end."

"Harrell has good feet and excellent length for a big to where he can dig in and cut off penetration from wings, like Justise Winslow."

"These are the types of defenders that the NBA is looking for right now. As basketball continues toward "positionless offense" -- where nearly every player can knock down shots and play 20 feet away from the basket -- guys like Harrell are essential due to their versatility. Guys who can switch onto guards and wings to cut off penetration momentarily, then switch back to post players to dissuade position on the block are as valuable as ever."

Montrezl Harrell could become an elite NBA role player in time

While this is not the stupidest thread I have ever seen started, it may well rank among the top 10.

A player similar to that was Elton Brand. 6,8" I think with 7,5" wingspan. But Brand is way more skilled than Harrell.
