Spoiler That was a disaster of a road trip. 2-8 47-34; 5 game division lead; half game ahead for best AL record 49-42 Go enjoy that all-star break.
I hope something really happens to KC. And when the f*** is Lowrie returning? His prognosis was 2 months
Starting to think the tear Carter went on last year was juice induced, time to move on but I don't think Singleton is the answer either. Tucker may be an option when the outfield gets healthy. Who knows!
And move Altuve to hit third, i can go with that, eventough i like Marisnick a lot, i think he has the talent. What about play him at lf???? 1. Kemp lf 2. Correa ss 3. Altuve 2b 4. Gattis dh 5. Rasmus rf (Ouch, we need Lowrie here) 6. Valbuena 3b 7. Singleton 1b 8. Conger c 9. Marisnick cf
everything that could possibly go wrong went wrong on that road trip. scary. good news: we get lowerie back, if he can hit anywhere past .260, i'll take it. badnews: carter will still be our 1st baseman. f the royals, again
Are you foolong yourself? Everything that could go wrong did? We had dominant starting pitching EVERY GAME and played error free baseball. Our hitting just sucks
Oh wow, I don't know?!? We might just have to watch! Every good team in MLB outside of the Cards has bounced in and out of the division lead so far this year. Why would the Stros be any different?
Good point... Although I don't really care what anybody else is doing. As currently is (no springer, inconsistent starting pitching, several no-shows in the lineup), they're probably not good enough. Even with everybody playing up to potential, they were expected to go .500 the rest of the year (before the losing streak). I also hope this recent slide doesn't alter the front offices' desire to "go for it" THIS season. They could just as easily have the same concerns about how good this lineup can really be without Springer for another month + and Lowrie being a huge ? when he actually comes back... And thus decide to just keep the status quo and not give up any assets. But I figure they'll find a way to add something without giving up too much.
I do think it should make them hesitant to trade for a rental, more so than they should have been before the slide.
I think they were always going to trade for a rental as is... gives them an option to go another way if they falter, get hurt, or just end up giving diminishing returns (as most high paid players do). Plus, you don't have to give up as much for a rental... which is what I think they're going to be bullish on as is. If they're going to be "pro-active", they can start by looking at the current roster and figuring out who really is going to be fitting in here for the long-haul, who has room for improvement, and who simply "is what they is..."
Home run or strike out routine is finally catching up. All our OBP guys are in the minors with just a few here. Carter, Valbuena, etc have to go after this year, I don't care if they hit 35 bombs each. GET ON BASE or get off the team.
I said retain 1st place, then you "correct" me saying we're not in 1st. Stop trying to be difficult. Let me think.... Oh, it appears our team is collasping and it's likely 2 months before our best player returns. I bet none of those other teams has as big a lead as us nor were in 1st as long as us. But you already knew that. Stop being difficult and condescending.
He wasn't correcting you about the 1st place comment. He was correcting you about the wildcard hashtag.
