Nelson is pretty much a glorified PDA at this point, he gives Cubes all the analysis he has and then Cubes makes the final shot. I think this is why the Mavs haven't drafted anybody decent since Dirk, Cuban just doesn't care about the draft and so they opt out every time, trading picks for limited ceiling players who will help immediately.

I don't think Donnie has done an independent decision without an approval from Cuban, must be why the dude they pirated from the Rox quit in like 1 week lol.

Why wouldn't he? He's a great player. It's pathetic how you guys sucked him off while he was here then pretend he's a scrub once he leaves.

It's even more pathetic how you fail to notice that most of us simply acknowledge that he is overrated, Anderson.

No, as a matter of fact I didn't. What I said was that Chandler Parsons was a borderline all-star. Which makes him a very good player, not a great player. People like Luol Deng, Richard Hamilton, etc. have made the All-Star team, and they are all very good players. They are not GREAT players. Big difference- and yes, semantics matter. I don't know about you, but from what I've actually READ on this site as opposed to what i THINK I READ, which is the case with some, is that (1) they were annoyed when he declared himself the best forward in the Portland series, in which Batum proceeded to make him look stupid; (2) people do not think Chandler Parsons is worth his salary- and he's not; (3) they are angry that he insulted the city of Houston when he left- completely unnecessary and very bush league- and we're correct on that; (4) they feel he is OVERRATED because he has been referenced several times as a GREAT player- and he's not- thus the OVERRATED label is correct; (5) they are annoyed b/c he continues to take shots at Houston without any justification- meaning that he's basically morphed into a Jr. version of Mark Cuban; and (6) they, along with many around the league, laugh at his 'butt hurt" comments regarding DJ's decision.

So, no, I don't think he was OVERRATED when he was here- because he wasn't. He was rated exactly as he should be- a borderline All-Star and very good player. He BECAME OVERRATED due to his situation- as he should be.

But, we get it- you have a moniker of an Orlando Magic player, so obviously you're a CPOF- so we get it. Or, you're actually Chandler Parsons or someone related to him. If you are, here's my message to CP: "Stop being such a saturated p***y and airing out your butthurt feelings in the media. It's OK to have confidence in yourself, but newsflash- you're not an All-Star, a franchise player or a max player. You're a very good player who's overpaid. And stop being a mouthpiece for your owner. He's the king of the Double Standard and he'll treat you just like an asset the first chance he gets."

If the Mavs are looking to tank and get a lottery pick in highly competitive Western conference and midwest division in particular, then I agree, Parsons is a great first option.

    Salary cap is a b****.

    • He was a very good value for what he was making on the Rockets and playing behind Harden and Dwight. Thus his perception of being great on the Rockets.
    • He would have been a good value if he was on the Rockets, making what he was while he was on the Rockets, and was our first option. But the team would be going nowhere. All of sudden he would not be seen as a great player.
    • He would be an overpaid 3rd option if Rockets paid what Cuban is paying if right now. Very good third option but not enough to take the team over the hump, which is why Rockets did not match.
    • He would be a flop if Rockets paid what Cuban is paying him right now and made him the first option, which I am hoping the Mavs end up doing.

Bottom line: Paying what he is getting paid right now means that he has tied up the salary cap, and Mavs cannot spend that money on a real difference maker for the franchise.

I always liked Parsons but 15/5/5 isn't worth 15 million dollars.

Nice takedown and, on this point, I could not agree more.

Doesn't mean they deserve it. And at the time we paid a guy with relative stats for 7 million less. So of corse we'd say he's overrated. Doesn't mean he's not a solid ROLE PLAYER.
