Before the typewriter jokes that might or might not show up, I just want to say that I need a laptop for work but hate the constant distraction presented by the internet (and that includes CF.net). I've tried distraction-free software such as Freedom, but I really want a computer that simply doesn't have Internet capabilities to eliminate the distraction and temptation once for all.

Does such thing exist now days?

Just turn wifi off or delete any wireless drivers on the laptop. I doubt you will find a laptop now days without wifi capabilities. You will have to remove it yourself.

Some work needs it, such as email or online research. But as a writer/podcaster, most of my content work doesn't need the internet. I hate the distraction that's constantly there.

Buy a commercial laptop... You can remove the wireless card from most Dell/HP commercial laptops.

Have you tried simply uninstalling all browsers? You'd have to proactively work to browse the web.

I'm pretty sure microsoft self destructs if you ever try to uninstall iexplore. Just buy a regular laptop and remove the wireless card. It won't be more than 10 screws to access and remove.

Yeah... just remove the wireless wifi card inside the laptop.

It's a clip in-clip out job. Youtube should have something, if you google
the laptop model and "remove" or "replace modem".

Sorry It was too early in the morning at the time of post :)

But yeah a business model, I'm sure a off-the shelf model has the same capability but I'm not 100% sure.

I work on Dell and HP laptops at works and if the wireless card is broken we just replace it. So you can easily remove it!

I think you can manually uninstall the wireless driver on every laptop, doesn't need to be an expensive business model.

    Simple.

    Start>run>ncpa.cpl

Now right click on your wireless adapter and hit disable.

A more hardcore solution would be to go to device manager, and delete the drivers. Then even if you get the urge, you'd have to find the drivers online somewhere and transfer them via usb to get it to work

step 1: open up the laptop and locate the wifi card
step 2: take a hammer and smash the wifi card
    step 3: profit

You can use the Stay Focusd extension on Chrome. You can block out entire websites for a particular time of day or whole day, etc.

You can also limit amount of usage of a site to a given amount of time per day as well.
