Seems we had better get used to Bev as the starter and Terry or NJ as the backup. I've got the feeling even if Lawson could be had for Jones, Papa, Prigs that Morey wouldn't do it.
Best European PG at the moment is Petteri Koponen, who plays in Russia, but has a buyout-clause for NBA in his contract. His rights are owned by the Mavs. I think that he could help right away and probably start in front of Beverley before December. He would probably accept quite low offer to come over. He is 27 years old, but still probably long career ahead of him. Strenghts: Size (6'5 with shoes) Quick and strong feet Shut down defender Real PG but able to play SG because of his size Excellent scorer and good shooter Good vision and good passer Weaknesses: Jumping ability, not a slashy dunker Not an excellent defender against big forwards (like Harden) http://www.mavsmoneyball.com/2015/5...nba-free-agency-mavericks-point-guard-finland Hopefully we could trade for him.
There was a really good article on Bleacher Report not too long ago proposing a trade for George Hill from the Pacers for Terrence Jones and Papanikolau. Considering they just lost PF David West, they'll be looking for a replacement like TJ. I think we should be looking for an experienced PG who still has the physical capability to put forward 25-30 quality minutes per game. Both teams would certainly benefit from a trade like this.
bleacher report makes the most asinine trade proposals known to man. The Pacers just signed Hill (the other one) so they don't need any pf anymore. And they wouldn't trade such a valuable player as George Hill when they have the no defence Ellis just signed to played alongside him.
Observe and stick with Pat Bev. He will handle the ball with ease and take the ball pressure off of Harden. Have faith.
Loved this kid during the FIBA World Cup. Unfortunately, I doubt Cuban would be willing to give him to us.
Most are speculating that if we acquire a point guard that helps move the needle this off-season, it's likely to come through trade. There's no one left at that position worth signing, and Smoove/KJ are who we'll likely focus on for the MLE (rightfully so). And if we are trading for a PG that moves the needle, I'm betting it's more likely to be coming from an Eastern Conference team rather than a Western Conference team. And because we need shooting at that position so badly, i'm betting the guy we bring in is a good 3pt shooter. So here are my 8 most plausible PGs we could trade for: Isiah Thomas 37% Boston Avery Bradly 35% Boston Jose Calderon 41% New York Brandon Jennings 36% Detroit Greivis Vasquez 38% Milwaukee Mario Chalmers career-36% Miami Gary Neal career-38% Washington
there are still teams in the West that would trade with us, because they are not contending. Like Sacramento Suns and Wolves. From your list I have to say this: IT and Bradley will cost. Bradley is more likely to be moved from the two but he is not a pointguard and will offer nothing in playmaking. Calderon has an awful contract and his defence may be the worst in the league in the pg position. Jennings is probably free at this point because of his serious injury Hill and Vasquez are not available at all. Chalmers can be had as salary dump And Gary Neal is not a point guard. He is only a spot up shooter.
We didn't get Harden until Oct 2012. Not saying there is another type like him as a PG that we could get but that we still have a few months before the season starts to get a good trade on our side.
Just saw that he wants a move to the NBA, would love if Morey could convince to come join our team. ONe of my favourite International PGs.
