    Good grief.

While we are at it we should probably go trade for Durant and Gasol. Probably pretty cheap.

Smart, while a highly touted prospect, still only averaged 8 points, 3 assist and 3 boards last season while shooting just 36% from the field and 64 % from the FT line.

He won't be cheap, but he's certainly not untouchable either.

He doesn't sound like a starting PG on a title contender.

I'm sure he'll be a nice player but I don't see Morey kicking the can down the road by getting a young guy like him.

The relationship is so soured I don't think they can afford to have him wearing a nuggets jersey ever again.

they can alwasy send him home without pay for actions detrimental to the team.

However this is a golden opportunity for us if we can get him for scraps. I just don't trust Denver FO at all to make a move like this. They have proved to be very patient, to a fault.

He was the #5 pick in a loaded draft and by all accounts the Celtics like his tenacity. He was involved in some trade rumors earlier but they certainly were higher value than crap like "jones and a first" (considering our firsts will be in the bottom third of the round). I would love a player like Smart or Lawson but we don't have anything to trade that makes sense for those teams. Neither Boston nor Denver benefits from Ariza and players like Donuts, jones, Capella and picks in the 20's don't move the needle in a landscape where other teams like Philly and Boston have much much more to offer.

No, because they don't have to play the entire time together. Enables Harden to sit and get Ariza and Brewer at the 2 and 3.

It gives us options, we can go strong defense with Bev, Ariza, Brewer.

yes he has. DWI (or was it DUI ) public comments on fb/twitter against the team etc. All this is actions detrimental to the team. You don't have to choke a coach to be punished without payment.

Denver can use Dekker Ross and some low first. We can make it a three way with Toronto.
But Boston I agree. It's impossible because Ainge has a plan and he won't change it wihout a kings ransom.

but ty would start and finish the games? and starting lineups are usually whats on the floor most of the game. \

if they split the minutes, with ty playing more in the first half, and bev more in the 2nd half and finishing the game. but he's getting paid too much to not play 30+mpg

Denver is playing it perfectly. They are $11M under the cap and without Lawson's salary would be approaching the floor. They have a stud rookie PG coming in, and most teams not located in Philly really do not like throwing rookies right into the fire. They will wait for a desperate team to come knocking, offering a lot of young assets. If it does not happen next season they will have a nice player on an expiring contract to dangle as trade bait next summer.

And Morey, as always, bides his time veiled in the secrecy that has become the trademark of the Rocket's FO. Patience is Morey's greatest virtue. That and never ever offering equal value in a trade.

its not haden's defense im worried about. i know he can play good d but with the workload he has he shouldnt give a lot of effort on d every possession. that means the pg has to play more consistent defense which ty hasnt been capable of his whole career.

The problem is Lawson plays defense just better than a fire hydrant. The Rockets hide Harden as much as possible, parking him on the opponents worst wing threat. The Rockets cannot do that for both Lawson and Harden, so it is a much bigger problem than many will admit.

The Rockets don't need to be acquiring players to backup Pattick Beverly, they need to acquire someone to supplant him.
