To me, everything about Woods screams top 5 pick. The kid has the potential to be the best player out of this draft. He just needs to get his mind right.

    Players I liked:
    1. Alan Williams and his game looks very similar to one "Big" Al Jefferson. He just understand how to score and uses his body very well in the post. He really may have an outside chance to make this roster...especially if they move on from Jones or DMo.

    2. With Wood, we all can see his offensive potential and imposing length, but the fact is he has to get better defensively to sniff an NBA roster. He is really a project.

    3. DJ Kennedy...showed his D League experience and was key in moving the ball inside the paint. His numbers arent eye popping, but the guy made good bball plays

Players I need to see more from:
    1. JJ Avila may have a nice Euro career, but in order to really get to the NBA...he has to get in shape. The guy has the highest IQ of all their DLeague players, and is consistent scorer...

    2. Glen Rice Jr. may not have a lot more chances to prove himself, but it seemed his ability to put the ball in the hoop may always keep teams interested.

    3. Jeron Johnson - Has the size and speed to play the PG position well, and needs to follow up his terrific play last season for the Vipers. He may just get his # called sometime. Keep an eye out for him.

Everyone else may just have a very hard time getting to the NBA, but may carve out a nice niche in Euro or other international leagues...

Woods clearly has potential that can be developed. Williams looks like a backup big on a bad team. Glen Rice Jr's ceiling is probably somewhere around JJ Barea. The rest are D league fodder.

would really like to see this guy get a camp invite. he's the kind of guy who makes everyone work harder. He's also the kind of guy who reduces the opponent's height advantage by using his strength and big body and wing-span (7'2") to out-position guys. This guy is a grinder; I like.

Plays physical like Z Randolph. Uses his body we'll to get position. Howard needs to practice against him every day and mimic that instead of all of that arm wrestling he does in the post. Don't know how effective he would be against better talent..

I have never seen the rim so friendly to a player before. That dude hit the rim on nearly every shot he made and still got the roll in, he even hit the rim on a simple layup. Seems sloppy but someone mentioned he had a soft touch and I would have to agree after watching that video. Yeesh!

I no longer get excited about summer league stars.

Signed, Dan Langhi, Chase Budinger, Jeremy Lamb, Donte Greene, pretty much any summer league Rocket stand out.

Clint Capela. Plus, it's hard not to get excited about this groups potential.

So let me make sure I understand this right, we beat the D-League Select team, which comprises of hand picked best of the D-League players even D-League Champion players with a bunch of scrubs??? WTF?! Are they that bad or were the players we selected that good?

Rockets are the best at winning meaningless games during the summer. D-League Select didn't have a chance.

Seems like they should be embarrassed as hell to lose to largely a no name crowd with hardly any playing time on this level. If that's the best the D-League has, it's not that impressive.

I think it's just a name. You have to remember that the best d league players would be playing for an actual summer league team as they have the best shot at making the jump.
