Not really. Randall is still a question mark and Russell and okafor are on equal fitting as of now. I think they're about equal. We'll see in a year
I never really understood why the **** Hinkie took him, clearly he is still not seasoned enough to be a head honcho. Dude has red flags all over and you still take him? Really? And then you went ahead and reached again and took a guy who might never come to the NBA. Way to waste two perfectly good lottery picks just because you wanted to tank more. As they say about the value of the bird in hand vs in the bush....
i dont think the 6ers are trying to get a "better" team. they have 4-5 1st round picks owed to them still, along with their own picks, and in addition pick swaps where they could potentially make the playoffs next season and the kings probably will not. at this point it is almost a certainty they will be a top 5 team in the league in the 3 years, and with an extended bright future, where they will hope to compete with tariq black for years to come.
Reports indicate its the same bone that took Yao out of the game. The Navicular bone...Poor guy, he wouldve been good for the game, but seriously...Phili made the right decision drafting Okafor, and it may prove that all this tanking did NOT go in vain. Better to build around a core of Noel and Okafor. They have a nice team...and may surprise a few folks this season.
I'm sorry to hear about this news, if it is indeed correct. At this point Philly should move on and whatever they get from Embiid is just gravy. Get well soon big man. And boy am I glad the Bucks didn't pick him. a certainty?? WOW. You must have missed the decades the Wolves have been picking in the lottery with nothing to show for it. Or Sacramento and their so many wasted lottery picks.
Noel - C Okafor - PF Covington - SF Stauskas - SG Wroten - PG Lot of folks are totally sleeping on Wroten as a PG. The dude was playing well til the injury cut his season. Adding a consistent low post scoring threat, and potential shooting wing...They have some balance offensively. Defensively they may have their struggles...Dont count out this team.
Yep. Hinkie is rolling the dice, looking for his Tim Duncan. And,so far, his ownership is behind the plan. If he hits payload, it could have a 15 year payoff, barring injury and free agency defection.
They may have 3 lottery picks next year with two of them possibly being top 5 picks...so yeah..Hinkie has a shot to build a OKC team where he drafts 2-3 superstars to build around if he picks the right players.
the line up is actually Noel th pf and Okafor the C. And it's not balanced at all. Wroten had three acl injuries. Stauskas looked like a bust and even if he could shoot some he can play any defence. And Noel at pf next to Okafor will be a disaster. But good luck philly. I would feel bad for Philly fans If I didn't know that most of them act like a cult.
Why would he miss the entire year if it is a surgery, he should be fully healed in 3 months, might as well get him working to see if he can hold up. DD
becaust if what pompey has reported is true, and to remind everyone here, it hasn't been officially confirmed by the team yet, then his problem is most likely necrosis and they will do a bone graft surgery the same that Iglauskas did.

PHILADELPHIA, PA – JULY 11, 2015 – The following is a statement from Philadelphia 76ers President of Basketball Operations and General Manager Sam Hinkie: “As we previously communicated, we have spent the last several weeks working closely with Joel and his representatives to further evaluate Joel's foot following the results of the most recent CT scan. This included conference calls and in-person visits with renowned foot and ankle specialists from the United States (New York, North Carolina, Colorado, California and Pennsylvania) and internationally (Australia, the Netherlands and Qatar). This group of experts unanimously agreed that the routine CT scan in June did reveal less healing than anticipated, an unexpected result since Joel was not experiencing any foot pain. "We have been consistent in our philosophy that our focus will be Joel’s long-term health and wellness to ensure he will have a long and impactful career in the NBA. After receiving the input of the aforementioned medical experts, as well as conversations with Joel and his representatives, there was careful consideration given to a number of options related to this particular situation. A collective decision has been made that the best approach to promote full healing would be to proceed with a bone graft of the fracture site. We anticipate the procedure will take place in the next 7-10 days and result in Joel missing the upcoming season. "We are still in the process of determining the doctor who will perform the procedure, which should be finalized in the coming days. Sixers Director of Performance Research and Development Dr. David T. Martin will outline and lead Joel's rehab and recovery plan, in collaboration with a worldwide network of experts and specialists.”
exactly what I expected. That sux. Only Iglauskas has managed to have a career after this. It is career threatening. It means the blood flow in the fracture wasn't enough and it lead to necrosis that stopped the healing. Good luck Jojo. I will be rooting for you.
