Will the first LAC @ DAL game have a more hostile environment than LeBron's first MIA @ CLE game?

Discussion in 'NBA Dish' started by swyyyguy, Jul 10, 2015.

?

Which game will have a more hostile environment?

  1. LAC @ DAL: The Dallas fans will be giving DeAndre NO southern hospitality!

    52.1%
  2. MIA @ CLE: Nothing will warrant more hostility than turning your back on your own city.

    47.9%

Depends on the date of the 1st game in Dallas. If it's 6 months away, a lot could have happened by then.

    Lol are you guys serious?

James, the home town kid, best basketball player in the world, carrying his team for a decade bouncing to Miami, is nothing like Jordan (who is just basically Tyson Chandler on roids) not signing with a new team after a unofficial agreement.

Fans where literally burning jerseys and crying when James left, nobody gives that much of a **** about Jordan.

This would be a fun game to watch. Especially Cubans reactions throughout the game.

It will be a joke. The mavs will be decrepit and awful and I will enjoy every minute of it because that's not a very good team over there

Well to be honest I'm not really sure why Miami and Cleveland should feel hostile towards Lebron, first of all Lebron was the only good thing that happened to the Cavs, when he left they fell apart and then when he got back it's instant Finals...he even recruited Kevin Love to join him so why should they complain? If anything the Cavs fans should be mad at Dan Gilbert and his inept front office if they did even a decent job then Lebron wouldn't have left in the first place. It's the same thing for Miami as well, they were dead in the water with old Wade and Beasley before LBJ and Bosh came there and he brought them 4 finals appearances and 2 rings. Sure Lebron left again but that's still 2 rings in 4 years LOL I'd pull out the red carpet for Lebron when he visits Miami again the Rox for example only 2 rings for the last 20+ years. Basically what I'm saying is the hostility is really just jealousy for Lebron, they want LBJ back and they're mad he chose another team basically, but if you look at what LBJ did for them they got nothing to complain about.

For DJ, he just plain out and out screwed Dallas turned them from a playoff team to instant lottery as well as embarrassed the hell out of the franchise and owner. They even let Tyson Chandler walk because DJ said he was coming there LOL. So IMHO Dallas will (or should) be way more hostile to DJ than Miami is to LBJ.

Apparently reading comprehension is not my forte. I totally misread the whole thread.

I'm guessing DJ's first trip to DAL will be more hostile, just cause they're Mavs fans.

Mavs are way too soft to provide a hostile anything.

A good portion of their roster will have been added AFTER Jordan decided to stay with the Clips.

I don't think they're going to be good enough to inspire their fan base to maintain any real hostility other than boos from the stands.

Plenty of athletes have backed out of verbal agreements.

Not a single player in the history of sports created a half hour special just to announce he was leaving his hometown, the city he promised to bring a championship to - except LeBron.

I was thinking of road tripping to the first game Dallas has against the Clippers next season just to hear the reactions live. :D

I'm not sure you could make the case he turned his back on his city considering that cleveland team had absolutely no talent and the owner was acting like a fool. He went to Miami and won multiple championships. In retrospect Lebron made the right move. He's now back in Cle with a much better squad and tunnel vision to win championships.

Don't know about that. There are ton to do in Miami, between beaches and Cuban Cuisine, basketball probably is not that important. OTOH, bunch of cry babies in Dallas think they are entitled.
