If those guys were about to be traded, I doubt they would be wearing Rockets polos and be present at the game...
Just my opinion, but Capela showed a lot of improvement by season's end with very limited playing time in the NBA. He's already a good shotblocker and terrific finisher. His ability to stay in front of the guy he's guarding, even a smaller player on the perimeter, is not something you see in many big men. His free throw shooting is no longer a liability that would keep him off the floor. And best of all, he just turned 21. I just don't think you trade away someone that young and promising without at least seeing how good he could really become.
Let me guess, it's for the same pupu platter posters on here always offer. Give us your 3 best players for Nick Johnson who couldn't beat out 37 year old Jason Terry, 38 year old Prigioni, KPap who never saw the floor, and if we're feeling generous T. Jones who we all railed against the 2nd half of the season. They'll have to give us a first round pick too in that case.
Although I agree our fans - or any fans for that matter - tend to do that, Morey has given us reason to believe that we will end up robbing some team.
Haha, I'm a Mavs fan but live in Houston so root for the Rockets when they're not playing Dallas. I was just flabbergasted last season when people said they wouldn't trade DMo for Goran Dragic. He was the exact type of player Houston needed to go over the top, and people were hesitant over trading away a guy who with the absolute best case scenario will be the next Al Jefferson.
They're uh... Both black? I had a good friend from Latvia who moved back there recently and he happened to be a huge Dead Prez fan, so we go to a DP concert and the crowd is like half 5 percenters (DP support Pan Africanism) - and he just keeps staring at the crowd and I'm like cut it out dude you're weirding everyone out and he goes "you don't get it man, if I see a black person on the street in Latvia it's like seeing a green person in America!" Annnnnd the joke's on me because halfway through this post I realized D Mo is Lithuanian. FML
lmao cool story bro. btw I don't want to make a new thread but this is a very nice article that talks about spot up shooters and talks also a bit about Ariza. How he gambled from going from Washington to Houston. http://grantland.com/the-triangle/2015-nba-free-agency-3-point-shooter-danny-green-demarre-carroll/ And that's why I think if we get Lawson all the team role players will get so much better and our 3point % will rise a lot.
I don't know what it will take to get him here but I would love to see Ty Lawson in a Rocket's jersey next season. With him, Harden, and Howard starting there is no telling what kind of damage they will do. If we can't get Lawson, another guy we could go after is DJ Augustin. Especially if they match Kanter's deal, they will be almost $50 million over the cap. They would almost certainly have to trade a combination of Perry Jones, Steve Novak, Morrow, and Augustin. If we could grab Augustin and Morrow from them we will be set.
