Call him up before he has another bad one! In seriousness, it it good to see him improve statistically each game. The top pitchers from the 2013 draft have all been pretty disappointing. The best is probably Sean Manaea, who has been out most of this season with a groin injury.

Who knew Martes might end up as the most valuable player from the Cosart deal? At the same time, who knew the better player the Marlins received might be Kike, who is doing for the Dodgers what he did in Houston.
I know what you mean. He has exploded onto the radar as a bit time prospect. But let us not forget that Daz Cameron was a part of the Cosart trade too. Still thinking Colin Moran will turn it around soon....
He did throw a 1-2-3 inning in his 1st rehab appearance, though...

Chad Qualls pulled after 2/3 of an inning in his second rehab start. Speaking of Francis Martes, he allowed 2 runs (1 inherited runner charged to him) on 4 hits and struck out 5 in 6.1 innings. Quad Cities is leading Clinton 3-2 in the 8th.
Akeem Bostick @ Rancho Cucamonga: 6.2 IP, 5 H (solo homer), 2 R (1 earned), 4 BB, 4 K Lancaster leads 7-2 in the 8th. Apparently, according to BA's Midseason Top 10 Prospects article, Nolan Ryan had some say in the Astros getting him for Carlos Corporan.
Usually I am against old timers coming along and taking a power position in any professional sports organization but Nolan really seems to know what he is doing.
http://www.baseballprospectus.com/prospects/eyewitness_bat.php?reportid=238 BP's scouting report on Reed.
Sickels was asked if Nottingham could make his top 75 list (should be coming out soon) and he said that it was possible, and if not then he would be very close. With him and Kemp, that 2013 draft isn't looking like a completely bust.
I wasn't happy with what they did in the 1st 3 rounds (Appel, Thurman, & Emmanuel), but thought they drafted well afterwards. There a large number of guys from those later rounds that have had success in their minor league careers, and will be interesting to see how many make the show one day.
