I mean, sure there was a sniper on DAJ when he went outside, but he was totally free.

 

Doc should just stfu...he is lucky that DJ didnt leave the Clippers high and dry... He can smile all he wants now, but they shouldve done all of this the moment FA started. They waited till the Mavs courted DJ and essentially agreed to terms before their "oh ****" moment.

He is not but over the past 15 years, Cuban has become more and more arrogant in the belief that HE is the smartest guy in the room and it has come back to bite him on his ass this time. It's also led to some questionable personnel choices (Shawn Bradley, Rafe Lafrenz, Eric Dampier, letting Steve Nash walk for nothing, breaking up the 2011 championship team) and styles of play (MC fell in love with the Don Nelson school of uptempo offense combined with no defense). Reports are today he is the maddest he's been since 2006 NBA Finals loss (which he blames on the refs) and even there, if the Mavs hadn't been so in love with taking jumps shots and actually had an inside game, the result might have been different. The RealGM article referenced earlier by J.R. sums up perfectly how bad a corner Cuban and the MBT have painted themselves into.
