yes they can do all those things.....there's plenty they can do with that much cap space to help there team. What I'm saying is none of those things involve getting 1st or even 2nd tier FA's. All that's left on the FA market are FA's that are waiting for someone to pick them up with whatever cap space is left. So there's no hurry for them to make a move when there isn't a mad rush anymore to snatch up FA's. They can take their time and make smart moves.
the only hurry is offersheets to rfa like i.e Kanter, TT and Kj (examples only doesn't mean they will go after them neccesarilly). And some leftovers with a little potential like Seraphin. Other than that yes. Now there is Portland Philly and Dallas with huge capspace so our unguranteed contracts of kpap and prigs are not so much worth as before. Unfortunately. We will see.
When will guys take less to come and play for us? Beverley has taken a paycut for what? Morey not getting much done, are we not considered contenders??
true....and with only a handful of teams (the ones you mentioned with the most cap space) there isn't too much competition to sign FA. The longer they take I think the better for us because that increases our chances of resigning our own guys. All three of the teams you mentioned are probably thinking how to use their cap to acquire assets and high upside young talent.....not a piece that will help them contend now. (i hope)
Why would you take a paycut to pick the Rockets over the Spurs or Cavaliers? Or even Clippers at this point? We are fringe contenders. Cleveland, San Antonio, Golden State, OKC and the Clippers are all ahead of us right now pretty clearly. That doesn't mean we can't beat any of those teams mind you, just that ON PAPER they have more bullets.
AWWW MAN, SPERZ SINE JIMMUR FREEDETT?! Y MOREE NO SINE HIM?! MOREE SITTING ON HIS FAT AZZ NO SINING NOJUAN!
LOL, crazy how quickly people panic. The Clippers are ahead of us? The Thunder? C'mon man that's just sad. The Spurs are a house of cards held together by a 39 year old power forward playing center. The Rockets are absolutely a strong contender, not a fringe contender....you make the WCF one year down 2 starters and so quickly everyone forgets.
Panic? I'm not panicking at all. It's July 9th and we have a long time before the season starts, let alone the playoffs. Morey will make moves, I have no doubt. But yes, assuming health, I take all of those teams over the Rockets. That's cool that you don't.
People crying like it's Christmas and all your friends got toys but you didn't. Stop cursing at Santa. You got some of the best toys in the world the last few christmas's. You can't get a Ferrari every damn year. The league is SET UP so the better your team is, the harder it is to make an improvement. Trades and upgrades have diminishing returns and there's the new risk of accidentally breaking up a contender with one wrong move (and that's a good risk to have). Hate to say it, but some of ya'll are starting to sound like Lakers fans
I just think it's completely over the top suggesting that the Rockets are only fringe contenders. It downplays how good the roster actually is. Assuming health, the Clippers have no chance to beat the Rockets in a series. If Durant was healthy, the Thunder would have a chance, maybe, but he's missed a lot of time and it's kind of hard to assume his health given the injury he's trying to recover from. Also, there will be the inevitable fighting for the ball between Westbrick and Durant which IMO hurts that team. You are free to think whatever you want, but the Rockets should be considered one of the top contenders to win the West.
Wouldn't it take more assets to trade for a guy at this time vs the deadline? Morey isn't going to overpay. Never has. Trade deadline. Then again this beat up team won 57 games last year, what could a healthy and rested team do? McHale needs to be more prudent with managing minutes and nights off.
Are people in this thread panicking really hoping we panic sign someone to a bad contract? If we only have one PG after the trade deadline then maybe that's the time to get a little upset, but we don't need to panic in the regular season.
It's cool man, I don't want to argue with you. You believe the Clippers have no chance against us, the Spurs are hanging on by a thread, the Warriors were a fluke, etc. We can't have a meaningful dialogue when you start there. (Not that you are interested in one anyway)
