Joey Vatto's contract, $20M+ for the next 8 years (until age 39): http://www.spotrac.com/mlb/cincinnati-reds/joey-votto/
Dioner Navarro's defense is poor, very poor: http://jaysjournal.com/2015/07/07/t...for-dioner-navarro-mlb-trade-deadline-rumors/ http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playerid=3179&position=C#fielding
Because he can hit over .200 and is a decent receiver. Not good at throwing out runners though. Castro has flat out sucked this yr. Worse than the trio of Ausmus/Everrett/Pitcher. I value defense and framing more than most, but a MLB level catcher has to bat more than .210 or they are a detriment regardless of how good their defense is and being generous Castro is slightly above avg defensively.

Unsure on validity, but... here you go, anyway.

Rumblings: #Astros still in on Hamels. Strange you say that, because between Castro and Navarro, Navarro is the only one to ever hit under .200.
There are 231 players who have 200PA this this year. Jason Castro has the 15th best LD% and the 8th best soft contact %, yet he ranks 202 in BABIP. Statistically speaking Castro has been one of the unluckiest hitters in all of baseball.
votto for kemp, singleton, appel and $200 cash why the reds make trade? because I really want it to happen and votto would replace what we're missing with springer.
