Analytics removes a lot of the luck from the equation. He knows what he's doing and makes calculated risks. He didn't suit up and win the games so yes players and coaches should be given credit but they played with and for the team they did because of Morey. It's not as simple as "hey there's a marginally good role player that's cheap lets get him". This is chess not checkers.
So you're the guy who didn't want Morey to acquire him. It all makes sense now. At least I hope this letter was severely written.
Imagine if we could have a great PG like Gragic last season, perhaps we are the Championship already now.
Why are you guys letting him take over this thread? There is already a morey hate thread, go there and cry about how morey sucks when you literally don't know anything and rely 100% on hindsight.
no thats their career numbers. I'm looking at how many open 3pt shots our wings get in playoffs and reg season and fact that were shoot the most 3s and talking about contract value because of other needs
Or send it to Roche Pharmaceuticals so they can use it when advertising for their product Klonopin: "If you don't take our product, you might wind up writing letters like this."
All of this. There aren't words to describe how little I think of Broussard. I put 0 stock in what he says. For example, I knew the Knicks wouldn't draft Mudiay because Chris Broussard said they would.
I don't trust him when it comes to the PG spot. I'm not gonna regurgitate the comments I made a few pages ago, but I'll just reiterate that Morey's done a horrible job dealing with that position over the last few seasons. He's left us with only one PG on the roster at this point(and an injury prone one at that), and there's no guarantee Terry will resign here(and presumably Pepperoni is gone). And let's not act like Morey doesn't have a spotty record when it comes to free agents and draft picks. He signed Joey Dorsey to a 2-year guaranteed deal. He cut Tarik Black(largely because of the Dorsey deal). He gave a 4 1/2 mil deal to Papa. And let's not forget one of his biggest successes last season, the emergence of Clint Capela, would never have happened had Morey had his way. Remember that he wanted Capela to spend last season overseas. Not saying he hasn't done a good job overall running the team. But in some areas(especially recently), he's come up way short.
for me ive seen enough of gerald green and the way he approaches the games as far as individually and wouldn't be a realistic choice to fit on this team. but good for miami for being able to sign him that cheap. obviously there wasn't many teams who wanted him
Great... this guy is back. Look, we've all tried to rationally respond to your claims about how Morey has F-ed up, and you rinse and repeat again and again. Morey IS NOT going anywhere, and the Rockets would be stupid to fire him as you suggest. You add nothing to objective conversations in the GARM other than b****ing about Morey, and your thought process that adding a Rodney Stuckey, or Reggie Jackson is some glarring weakness on the part of Morey. EVERYONE wants an upgrade at PG... including Morey. But what he considers to be an upgrade is different than what you consider to be an upgrade. I'm going to go on a limb here and say that Morey's done more homework and research on who will impact the Rockets more at that spot, and obviously his data shows different results than yours. If you have done the research to show the impact, than lets see it. Because until you SHOW people how a Rodney Stuckey or whomever vet min level veteran PG you are suggesting is going to dramatically increase the team's production, win shares, etc. you are just blowing hot air at your computer screen.
I totally agree. He is uncoachable and responds very very bad to any critisicism from his coaches and teamates and was one of the major problems in the Suns lockeroom. When I said it some months ago, people thought I was hating. There was a reason such a good shooter went to late in free agency. However at vetmin he is a huge bargain.
It's easy to pick out everything that's gone wrong in hindsight. He's done nothing right at the PG position, except bring us Beverely from bum fck Russia. Who knew that Tariq Black would be any good? We needed a backup C, and Dorsey was far more bankable than Black. I agree that the guaranteed second year, though, was dumb.
It's not about the date. It's about what the Rockets have done compared to other teams in the West. Golden State has resigned all of their free agents and dealt away David Lee in order to avoid a massive luxury tax bill. The Spurs have resigned(or gotten commitments from) Green, Kawhi, Duncan, and Manu while adding Aldridge, West, and McCallum. The Clippers got Pierce and Stephenson and managed to hang onto DeAndre. The Grizzlies resigned Gasol, acquired Barnes, and replaced Koufos with Wright. Those are 4 of the top 5 teams recordwise in the West last season. Every single one of them has either improved their roster or at least maintained continuity. And they've done it as of July 9th. Meanwhile, the 5th team, the Rockets, have resigned Brewer and Bev which is good, but have still done nothing with their other free agents, Smith, Terry, and McDaniels. They've also done nothing to address the PG situation(no, resigning Bev does not count). Is there still time? Sure. But with regard to PGs, the well is very dry now that we're over a week into free agency.
2450 pages of this thread which started from 07/11/2014 to now, there is no one big move occurred . Pipe Dream Thread? LOL.
I think that is part of the plan. Wait until everything is settled and then strike with the FA bargains and hopefully a trade. Lest you guys forget, the Harden trade happened three days before the season started. There have been numerous deals made in season. Relax and be patient, Daryl will make moves.
no "big move" yet the rockets got to the western conference finals. LOL. some of these comments are pretty ridiculous.
