    Lola Savanah, of course. :)

Already tried 3 different beans so far Yirgacheffe was the best.

Funny I was in a party last night and host showed me his new coffee brewer ( Vacuum) but he was not using fresh roasted beans. i almost told him that it didn't taste like coffee at all.

I mean which roaster are you roasting your green beans with? You were the home roaster right?

i bought freshly roasted ones from them and some greens. I tried roasting the greens last Saturday. it was not evenly roasted using old school way - pan, like making popcorns, but it still tasted good but there were some new different flavors because the beans have different colors :).

Coffee, without going crazy on cream and sugar is great for your health. Now, if you drink 10 cups a day..

I finally got pissed enough with Keurig (abandoning the Vue after a short time on market, going to 2.0 with a DRM system to prevent using non-Green Mountain (Keurig) K-cups). So months ago I tossed the Vue and went back to a drip coffee maker.

    Bought this:

Bonavita 1900. A bit more work than a K-cup. But the metal carafe does a good job of keeping the brewed coffee hot enough without a warmer and the heater element gets the coffee the correct hot temp to make a great tasting cup of coffee. If you have a bit more time it has a pre-brew soak setting which does seem to make an even better tasting coffee. Only downside is that it only makes 40 oz of coffee so a large party means multiple brews. But it brews pretty quickly.

My favorite coffee in it is Ruta Maya that I can get at Costco (I think either Randalls or HEB may also carry it).

We have the Vue, but bought the converter for the K-cups. We love the HEB Cafe Ole Houston roast.

That Cafe Ole does go hard. They should make it exclusive to Central Market.

I own and manage a few coffee shops in downtown. We started using local roasters last year and the difference in coffee it unbelievable when compared to a chain.

Their are a few awesome roasters in Houston.

    Greenway Coffee
    Amaya Roasting Co.
    Boomtown
    Java Pura
    Pearland Coffee Roasters

All are local and very good IMHO.

To clarify these are local roasters with or without shops.

Greenway Coffee - Greenway Coffee, Blacksmith, Inversion, Bosta (also served at cafes restaurants around town...Paulie's comes to mind)
Amaya Roasting Co. - Catalina, Mercantile
    Boomtown - Boomtown
Java Pura - whole bean available at Central Market
Pearland Coffee Roasters - Pearland Coffee Roasters

Not comprehensive but I've had all of the above.

That Houston blend is the BEST. Smells...and tastes amazing, just bought a 50 pack of those suckers on sale a week or so ago. I have a few bags too.

I think I've had that but it smelled sweet. Is there artificial sweeteners added to it?
