All this will do is keep law abiding people from openly carrying there. That's it.

I've seen plenty of legal law abiding gun owners who aren't particularly safe with their guns. I will feel much safer in a whataburger without a bunch of folks carrying firearms in the fast food joint.

Makes sense, I'd imagine most businesses would prefer non-cops to not openly carry firearms. Only total idiots are going to be walking around with a six shooter strapped to their hip simply because they can. The open carry law just closes a loophole where people with CHL's could be arrested if an officer happened to see their concealed handgun. People openly carrying handguns will probably be refused service at a lot of businesses...and rightfully so IMO.

Do you live in Houston (or Texas)? If that's your definition, you will see an increasing number of "idiots" around.

The number of people who actually openly carry in public will be small. I know there are those who will, but the hassle won't be worth it for most.

Oh I know people like that too, I'd imagine most businesses will do similar things and refuse service to those openly carrying firearms, just add one more to the "no shirt, no shoes, no service" decal and you're set.

I'm all for the right to openly carry firearms, but it's something that really shouldn't be done most places just to be polite.

You'd be surprised to know how many guns you're standing next to everywhere you go...

Actually I'm right on both counts, but go ahead and try to support your position if you think you can do so intelligently.

Actually you're not but this wouldn't be remotely close to the first time you thought you knew something you didn't.

SMH, then do your best to try and make an intelligent argument against what I said. I don't think there's any chance you ever make an intelligent argument about anything at all, but I'm willing to give you the opportunity to embarrass yourself trying.

Is there really a need to openly carry a gun into a freakin' Whataburger? Who does that? And who would WANT to do that? And for what reason?

I wouldn't be surprised to know that for many of them, there is no reason why they need one with them everywhere they go.

He's not entirely wrong. While you can't just put a "no firearm sign" out, a business can place a 30.07 or 30.06 sign which is essentially the same thing.

My guess is the list of businesses exercising their constitutional right to prohibit guns on their premises will continue to grow...

Kudos to Target for taking a level headed stand.

It's a lot different. It has to be in English and Spanish with the full text of the law and it has to be a certain size text. I've actually seen a proper 30.06 sign like once.
