That's what I don't get--Thatcher got you your out against the high hitting lefty...why not bring in Neshek then?
Neshek should have been in to start the 8th. Matchup based pitching substitutions aren't nearly as effective in high leverage situations.
He's a career .258/.305/.350 hitter against lefties. Now, that's not really anything special, but he's been OK against them.
That's what I'm saying--I feel like it hasn't been effective at all with Thatcher but I can't back that up with analytics
