How does an agent even steer a player in a certain direction? We heard of this two seasons ago with Dwight Howard being "steered" towards Dallas by Fegan. It's the player's decision in the end.

[Markazi] The Clippers are obviously hoping Jordan's meeting with Cuban is to break the news to him. They're trying to get him back to L.A. tonight. (twitter.com)

Many on the Mav’s forum are saying they don’t even want Jordan back after this fiasco. It seems most are taking Cuban’s words seriously about tanking if Jordan doesn’t sign and welcome it because even with Jordan they are not contenders. Fegan is reported to be on his way to Houston. Also read where several members said Fegan owes Cuban a favor after not delivering Howard to Dallas from LA.

Every single one of them would kiss his feet for him to sign with Dallas at this point.

I agree. Many posters here were saying the same thing about Howard until it was official.

    This whole thing is bizarre.

I hate the Mavs. I hope he signs with the Mavs.

Haha, this is actually worse... Bosh was leaning to the rockets but he never reneged a verbal agreement... DeAndre chose the mavericks almost a week ago and verbally committed. As much as I hate the Mavs this is a cluster ****... I think if DeAndre was represented by a smaller agent he would probably resign (ie stop working for DeAndre), but since this is Fegan I don't think he gives a ****, hopefully this damages his reputation as an agent. I know Boozer's agent left him when he went back on his agreement.

And now Dallas [likely] won't get a meeting since LA has taken temporary residence. This is crazy.

And we thought Bosh did the Rockets dirty last summer.

This couldn't happen to a more worthy team. Don't worry Dallas, you didn't deserve him. Haha

If true, it says something about Dwight that he chose the destination that was best for him and understanding that the agent should work to get him the most money from his preferred destination, rather than someone who is manipulated by the agent for their own personal gain. As a fan of Houston teams, I remember many people felt like that's what happened with Carlos Beltran and seems to be happening with Jordan.

On a more cynical (and borderline conspiracy theorist) note, doesn't it seem inappropriate that a member of one team could agree to terms with one of their rivals and tie up $20m until all other top[ free agents have committed to other teams and then decide at the last minute to sign with his original team? If you were always going to sign with your team anyway, why not use this tactic to cripple one of the teams you will be competing with every year? it' a stretch of the imagination to think that's happening here, but this scenario shows other teams what an effective strategy it could be.Like most conspiracies, it would probably take too many people to be willing participants to actually pull it off.

With all of that said, I have to want Jordan to sign with the Mavericks because I think it's ultimately best for the Rockets, but I sure would love to see Cuban with egg on his face. Hopefully that will happen anyway after giving max contracts to Parsons and Jordan and still only ending up with a 7 seed.

    How pathetic.

So DeAndre Jordan is such a mental midget that when it comes to a hundred million dollars and where he will live and work for 4-5 years, his opinion changes depending on who he talked to last.
