The league didn't do anything when this involved Turk and McDyess. Why now?

Technically they can...but they won't. Because no one would ever sign there again :)

This one case is why I don't think the league would or could do anything to Jordan or the Clippers as they have allowed it in the past and set a precedent similar cases going forward.

    What are you arguing about?

Do you just want to argue?

I said that I was told Bosh verbally agreed to sign with the Rockets... the Rockets made moves to procure Bosh.... and then the Heat increased their offer and Bosh went for the max money from Miami.

Did I say that Bosh couldn't do it? Did I say anything about the moratorium and Bosh?

Was the front office upset? I was told they were, but can you blame them? Has Morey said ANYTHING negative about Bosh or his agent? Hell, Morey in public to the media said there NEVER was an agreement.....

I am not sure what you are trying to argue about.

Yeah, the consequences for a team backing out are more severe. If an agent tells his client "Hey, don't bother negotiating with that team, they can't be trusted!" that can be death to a team's free agent pursuits. A player backing out doesn't hurt the agent because teams will always pursue good players again.

It happened more recently than that. Hedo did it. Jason Kidd did it to the Mavs.

I didn't know about Dice or Nose.

I said earlier I did not know if there was a gentleman's agreement or how the league teams handle it..... there is also a report that teams regularly try to get players to back out of verbal agreements.

Yes the consequences for a team are higher for a lot of reasons, it is also a lot easier for the league to punish a team than a player........ it is also a whole lot easier to exert pressure on a team than a player.

The other side of it is he wants to be valued on the team he is going to spend the next several years and the last time the Clippers met him, no players were there and Doc had no plans for getting more plays run for him. It's just recruiting 101 and the Clippers failed miserably at that. If they had a real GM instead of Doc - it wouldn't have been played that way. Doc once again misplayed his hand in the FA market. He's lucky he's getting another chance, but frankly the Clippers don't deserve DJ.

So Jordan stays in LA and Mavs will tank, Any estimation on how much Parsons's next contract will be for?

Yes but never before has a TOP fa done it and at the 23th hour of the moratorium. There will be some changes at least. Lets see how it unfolds. Maybe dj changes his mind again and decides to quit bball alltogether.

The media was claiming Dwight was doing it just two years ago. Nobody was calling for changes then.

Of course, then it was just little old Houston getting messed up.

I've been away from CF.net today and seeing this is so hilarious!!

    There's Something About DJ?

    Everybody Wants DJ?

    Along Came Along DJ?

    Pure Hollywood, right now.

Man, if Dwight actually did this he would have been roasted alive then fed to the birds y ESPN.
