People have been making fun of that picture. Chris Paul just flipped the script by implying that he's riding a banana boat to the DeAndre meeting.

    They still have Superstar Parsons!

And, I know it's a long shot, but if Matthews plays like he did in Portland, he's a damn good player on both sides.

I admit it. I'm enjoying watching Dallas suffer.

He just took swimming lessons cuz you know black ppl can't swim. :)

He's the assistant coach of the Clippers. I guess he's in Galveston and wants to swim to the Galleria area.

    1) They didn't levy any punishments against anyone
    2) The league was the owner of the team and vetoed a trade. That is within the rights of the league when they took control of the team.

First, James Harden is not a franchise, he is an individual player. I never said that the league would ever consider punishing Jordan.... that opens up a whole can of worms separate from punishing a franchise, which is bound by separate agreements.

If the league believes that the Clippers have acted in a way that is not in the best interest of the league, they have wide latitude in issuing punishment. Typically teams only object to league punishment up to a particular point. You saw it with Deflate Gate most recently. There was a prescribed punishment for deflated balls, but the league exercised their discretion and went above and beyond.

I have no idea what Silver will do, he may not be as active as Stern was. Further, there may not be a gentleman's agreement within the league. We don't know.

If the Mavs are going to tank and rebuild... how would they even do it? Parsons is untradeable. Matthews' trade value will be small until he proves he can stay healthy. And I don't think they'll ever deal Dirk.

So their rebuild would likely take 3-5 years, best case scenario.

Their pick is only Top 7 protected this year as well. They are beyond screwed.

This was technically about violating rules about informing the league of injuries, but we all know that is not what it was about.

I'm with the guy who said the league has given themselves pretty broad jurisdiction on things like this. They shouldn't interfere, but I wouldn't be shocked (especially if this was Stern's NBA) if they did.

On prospect of DJ back to Clippers, triggering other deals to change, "This could [F] up the whole league" - off record NBA exec

A Lakers blogger tweeted that out. That's why I think the Clippers will be fined by the NBA. It's not so much Jordan screwing over the Mavs(although that's bad enough on its own). It's that this will set off a chain reaction in the league. Will the Mavs back out of Matthews' deal since they'd likely go into tank mode? Will Chandler still sign with Phoenix? What about all the other deals agreed to?

This does change the balance in the West considerably. The Clippers remember won 56 games and were the 3rd seed last season. I could see a few players and their agents suddenly backing away from their verbal agreements and seeing if there's a better situation out there for them.
