Again...what if Deandre reached out to them first? We're going to take away draft picks because they choose to sign a free agent who reached out to them and asked them to?

Maybe DJ just wanted to see CP3 beg, but he is better off in LA. They are a better team and he gets more money.

i don't think this is punishable. yes it's in bad faith but at the same time there was no contract signed. it's before july 9th and nothing is official until then. You better believe mark cuban is going to be furious and try to sue or something drastic but it seems to me that he has no legal grounds to do so. I'm in no means a lawyer so i could be wrong, but in the US a verbal commitment is not an official contract by any means. Now if there had been something in writing, it's a different story.

Sure, the league could also punish the Rockets for Deandre going back to the Clippers. Right? I mean they have wide latitude amirite?

Jordan finally woke up and realized the Cuban Kool-aid was spiked. Clippers has the best opportunities for him, but I certainly hope he sticks with Dallas. Can't afford to keep the Clippers as contenders.

Adam Silver is not an ******* like Stern...I refuse to believe he would punish the Clips for this.

This is drama that is entertaining. Silver welcomes it, I'm sure.

What is happening is allowed by the CBA. The CBA clearly states no free-agents can get into a verbal or written agreement. All they can do is negotiate the terms of the contract that can be signed after the Moratorium is over. No agreements are allowed of any sort. All we hear is commitments and promises. But they cannot be legal agreements, because the CBA clearly states, as such.

The NBA will do something. This is very dangerous territory. To have big name free agents screwing around like this when other teams and players are making decisions based on what they do will lead to all sorts of turmoil. What happens if other players change their minds if/when DeAndre announces he's returning to LA after all?

Rockets fans can enjoy the schadenfreude, but just keep in mind that Fegan is also Dwight's agent. What if he pulls some crap like this with us a year from now when Dwight opts out? Silver and the league have to get this under control and change the rules so it can't happen again.
