ESPN sources say Clippers lobbying DeAndre Jordan to reverse his decision to join Dallas

I really don't see what the league can do here especially if it was DJ who contacted the Clippers. The whining and moaning up here will be epic but life is hard and then you die. No contracts have been signed so he's still free to do whatever. I've been in numerous situations where sales deals based on verbal commitments fell through. Also, for what it's worth, DJ never tweeted out that he was coming to the Mavs unlike what LA did when he signed with San Antonio. My gut tells me that he took a really good look at the Mavs roster and got cold feet. Even with DJ, the Mavs aren't a playoff team - I fully expect Utah & NO to be better than them this year.

 

The league can't punish the Clippers for anything if Deandre initiated his own backing out of the Mavericks contract. A verbal commitment being broken can't be punished by the league without tampering charges. As Jordan is still a free agent, the Clippers can't be punished for tampering.

It is unbelievable that Fegan is able to make decisions for his "clients" just because he owes a favor. If this guy tried to make a decision for me or pressure me to sign with a certain team I would b**** slap him and ask him who works for who.

Just appalling that this guy can force situations (bad ones at that) upon his clients without ramifications. I just don't get why people keep using him as an agent. Hopefully Jordan fires his ass as he could have gotten a max deal done by himself with whichever team wanted him.

If you haven't noticed, I hate agents and owners who are friends with agents. I really want the Mavs and Fegan to suffer due to their shady dealings the last couple of years. They are getting everything they deserved and it will come full circle with Jordan signing with the Clippers and firing Fegan.

 

We are all going to have a good laugh about this until Fegan steers Dwight to Dallas next summer.

I think this is what's ultimately going to sell DJ on returning. Pierce might be annoying, but the guy is an OG and the type of veteran who can definitely help the CP3/DeAndre relationship. We saw what Jason Terry meant to this Rockets team last year.

 

I agree, if the NBA should do anything it should be something to remind the agents that they are representing the players.

This idea that Fegan is giving Deandre to the Mavs as a makeup for not getting Dwight to Dallas is sickening tbh. As if they are just pieces to be moved for his gain.

If Wes goes to the Kings, all bets are off until the deals are inked. The entire FA market could go into an absolute frenzy as players start renegotiating. Oh man wow, if that happens it may be the best 12 hours in NBA history.
