Conger deserves more playing time with as bad as Castro has been this season. Singleton and Carter are both bad and Valbuena is injured. Not much else we can do with the bottom of the order.

And Marwin is fifth in the AL for SS in OPS... I feel like he gets a bad rap for being a decent utility player. Having a back up like Marwin in the lineup compared to Clint Barmes or someone comparable makes you a better team. I like having him as a backup for these injured guys.

Keep everybody off first and second base with less then 2 outs, Conger will be just fine.

I think he got a bad rap because:

    a) everyone wanted Correa ASAP, and he happened to be the guy who was playing "worse than Correa would be" in the interim

    b) people still don't necessarily realize how horrid the SS position is (offensively) around the league

    c) he seems to play better in a limited role when they can more often exploit matchups

Bench players play better when they play off the bench. It happens every year, but there are exceptions, you take a hot guy that's tearing it up in spot starts, then put him in full-time, then he turns into a bench player again

Had to verify this. It's true, even though he doesn't have enough plate appearances to qualify for the batting title. His .702 OPS would indeed put him in 5th in AL (and the NL, too) in that category.

Looks like just a short delay with a threat of rain

Should have mentioned I set the sliders to a minimum of 150 PAs. He is also third in homers FWIW.

    Is Velasquez Spanish for "glacier"?

Slow to the plate, slow in between pitches.

Now we get to check out the stretch.

He gives up a lot of contact. Hard to see him going far into the season.

Why was he playing so shallow with 2 outs?

He was playing rover. Nobody could have gone back and caught that, from where he was positioned.
