    Parker
    Green / Ginobili
    Leonard /
    Aldridge / Diaw
    Duncan / West

Damn, pretty solid. Old, but Leonard, Green and Aldridge are young enough to match up with most teams athleticism. They need to sign some athletic young players to fill there SF and PG holes.

I still don't understand how people are hating on David West's decision. He's made roughly 80 million over his career, is nearing ever closer to retirement age..yet you guys think he's an idiot for not chasing more money? This just isn't adding up in my mind. If he was willing to leave Indiana badly enough to leave 12 million on the table then obviously he had a good reason for doing so. I love how everyone suddenly thinks they more insight into his life than him, his family, his agent, and probable team of financial advisors do.

Well they lost Baynes and Splitter too. But really none of those players matter much, the Spurs can come close to matching their productions with vet min players through free agency who are chasing rings at discounts.

Splitter was the only real loss for the Spurs. Baynes lost them some games, and had low ball iq. Bellinelis defense left a lot to be desired. Joseph was just a luxury point guard that helped TP get rest.

How did Baynes lose the Spurs some games? He was a bit player who hardly played. You don't lose games for your team riding the bench.

Joseph was not just a luxury PG. Tony Parker is a rapidly aging PG who was horrible against the Clippers in the playoffs. They have Mills behind Parker and he is very solid, but when your #1 PG is declining so quickly (lots of mileage and his game was 100% dependent on his speed and quickness as his jumper and court vision are meh) Joseph was a lot more than a luxury.

Joseph held down the fort very well last year when Parker missed a lot of games. His loss will be felt, unless they somehow find a quality replacement in FA which is unlikely. Very unlikely Parker plays 70 plus games next year and even less likely he plays at the high level he did when he was younger and had fresher legs and more quickness. Small, quick Guards like him, Isiah Thomas and Kevin Johnson do not tend to age very well.

Belinelli wasn't a great defender indeed but he was a very good shooter and was probably their best sub in the 2015 playoffs against LAC when he had some monster games. Part of what makes SA so hard to defend was their devastating combination of 3 point shooters and Marco was an important part of that.

I'm not sure the 2016 Spurs are better than the 2015 Spurs. They definitely will be weaker defensively. Big names don't always mean big results. Look at the Malone/Payton Lakers or the late 90's Rockets when we added so many big names and ring chasers like Barkley, Willis, Eddie Johnson, etc. These paper tiger teams the media loves to crown in the offseason do not typically ring at the end of the day.

When you've made $90 million, another $10 million might not really a big deal.

    Charles Barkley did.

Lol David West is an idiot for taking a pay cut and Kobe taking a big contract makes him an idiot. I guess you just can't win arguments anymore.

The spurs next year are definitely better then the spurs of last year, you must be crazy if you don't think so imo. Remember how Aldridge himself killed us in the playoffs. The southwest division in beastly. James harden and Anthony Davis, two mvp canidates in the division. Gasol, and Howard top 5 centers. Davis, aldirdge, Duncan are top 5 pfs. Howard and Jordan bottom 5 ft shooters.

He's completely about winning and made a ****load of money during career, strange that so many people here are calling him stupid or think he's receiving money behind the scenes.

Always respected him, but this decision shows he is in the league for the right reasons.

Season over, unless major injuries, Spurs have this in the bag. They are basically the same team but upgrade Baynes and Splitter to West and Aldridge.

We won't be able to get passed them with just Jones and Dmo at the 4, no way.

He's old and could have a career-ending injury at any point now. Look at his career earnings and think about his lifestyle, dude is not someone that blows money left and right and is dependent on 11mil more or less.

He joined this league and had the dream of winning titles, there's not much time left and he knows it.

The reactions in this thread really show how focused on money this society is.
