Lets fuether this after thinking 10 more seconds: TWill, Von Waffer, trading soon to be super star Lamb for bench player Harden. Risks? I guess not.

Many posters need to print this out and put it next to their computers. Look at it whenever you're thinking about ripping Morey for no good reason. It's the truth. It's beautiful. And it's correct.

Just because players are out there doesn't me that we want them or we can get them. Do people just forget that Morey got us Harden AND Howard?! Yes, he did that and we're a WCF team because of it. If we jumped at every name free agent out there we'd be much worse off today. Morey knows what he's doing. This is his job and he's damned good at it. Any Rockets fan knows less than Morey does about these things. Have patience and have faith in Morey.

Rant continued...Remember last year? The sky was f-ing falling because we lost out on Bosh and Parsons. The faith in Morey was at an all-time low among the haters. Morey and the Rockets get us to the WCF (w/ 2 hurt starters) and people still complain.

Breathe in. Exhale. Wait and see what Morey does next.

At this time, depending on health and other roster moves, I look at the Western Conference in these tiers

    Tier 1
    Warriors
    Spurs
    Thunder

    Tier 2
    Rockets
    Grizzlies

    Tier 3
    Clippers
    Mavs
    Pelicans

    Tier 4
    Jazz
    Suns
    Blazers

    Tier 5
    the rest

    Dumpster Fire Tier
    Kings :p

We were second in the fiercest Western Conference probably ever though we were missing key players all year. We were in the Western Conference Finals though we were missing two starters throughout the playoffs. But Morey has let "you" down. I shudder to think how upset you'd be if you were a fan of one of the 26 teams in the league that we finished in front of.

Do you read what you post? You 'hate Morey'? DM the GM's 'not willing to take risk'? 'Who knows what would've happened if we had a better PG? I really think last year was our year, and we blew it.' You do remember we did have a better PG; one who fit the WCF opponent better, but he was out, injured. You do remember 'we', i.e. the Rockets, TheGoodGuys, made it to those WCFs even without two starters, even after being picked to finish in the Lotto by some, no higher than 7 by anyone of the so-called professional progs?

Oh, how I wish you were a Knicks fan today. Or a Lakes fan. Or a Kings. How 'bout a Hinkie's team's fan? Maybe just a C's fan. Or Heat fan. Or how many other teams whose summer has disappointed exponentially?

One question: Do you think Jason Terry is better than any one of Stuckey/Collison/Thomas/Williams?

I understand we should not overpay for players who are not worth the price. But the guys I listed out....We could've gotten them at a really cheap price!

Listing out all the flaws of the players doesn't make your post more persuasive. It's just laughable. Are you really trying to convince me they are not as good as Jason Terry? Stop acting like a Lakers fan.

So what if we can't land the "difference maker"? Just go with our grandpas? Is that what you want?

Your Dumpster Fire Tier team? They just may be the most fun team to watch (from afar; far far away) next season!

yes a coach who doesn't like defence. There goes their identity.
Taj just had surgery and Noah's knees are done.
Wouldn't be far fetched to see them as a low seed in the po and their fans think they are contenders.
    Love the delusion.

Spot on. It's not just about the "best PG available", but rather the "best PG FIT for this team." And cap considerations also come into play.

It's too early to put tiers. Trades still haven't happened yet.
But if the Cavs get joe johnson I am puting them in a tier above every other team.

No question. I am sure there will be a 30 for 30 on this team in the future.

Bah, it's never too early. I qualified it with health/and roster as of today. I was only doing the West. :p

Lmao that was the most stupid thing I've read on CF. Another playmaker would make your team weaker by taking creative opportunities away from Harden more than anything? Really? Criticizing their defense while Terry and Prigioni are both bad defenders who struggled to stay in front of their men.

Didn't your mother ever tell you that "Hate is a Strong Word"???

I totally think that we should absolutely question Morey's moves, and dissect them, but if you cannot rationally take a step back, view, and have some respect for playing the LONG GAME as a GM then I don't know what to tell you. NOTHING will ever make someone like you happy because you want it now in a very impatient manner.

There is a big difference is "Not Willing To Take Risks" and Being Impatient. Morey took a risk on Royce White. He took a risk on Terrence Williams. Those risks were for the sake of the LONG GAME. Not immediate impatient swings at the plate.

What Morey DID NOT take a risk on what the ability to sign or absorb a max contract at the time of rebuilding. Timing when discussing moves like Dragic, Lowry, etc. are the most important part of the discussion. Dragic was a fluke on paper because he was essentially a veteran NBA player who at the time was good, but not great, and past the point where any analytically sound basketball mind would tell you he would take not just one but several steps forward in basketball talent. He predicted everyone wrong, and good for him.... he's now a very rich man, and will be the best player on an 8th seed playoff team in the East, and was the best player on a team in the West that couldn't make the playoffs for several years.

Morey made a mistake, but what fans like you that HATE him fail to consider is the depth of research, and careful thought that Morey and co. took to make the decisions they made, and to take or not take the risks they took.

You don't always have to agree with it, but if you don't respect the LONG GAME and the amount of work that goes into their decision making, then around here you are just going to look like another impatient whiny jaded Houston sports fan who can't move on from the Oilers/Bills game in 93.

So you think Terry and Prigioni are perfect fit for Harden?

Well, I think I am more knowledgeable than most of you here. At least I don't say stupid ****s like "Isaiah Thomas can't play defense, he's no better than Jason Terry".
