Yeah, I think the Rockets figure out the KJ / Josh Smith situation BEFORE they make any PG trades.

Collison still makes a lot of sense.

    1) Harden ain't no MJ, and even MJ has Pippen. Harden really had no help in terms of playmaking last season.

    2) Advancing to the WCF doesn't mean ****. It feels good but at the end of the day there's only one winner. We must improve our roster.

I've lost all my trust last year when he gave that fat contract to Papanikolaou when he could've gotten Collison at that price.

One thing that bugs me about the way you post is the condescending nature in which you present your arguments. Always as if you're chastising somebody and always with the eyeroll emoji. As if every argument you make is logically sound and on point.

Like this one here. We nearly led the league in turnovers during the regular season and led it by a wide margin during the postseason. Not to mention, TO's cost us at least two games in the Golden State series.

But, hey, these people lusting for a PG upgrade really need to get their heads examined or something, right? And as for the hyperbole referenced in your post, I highly doubt anybody is seriously trying to argue the Rockets will suck next year if they stand pat. But you can't fault these fans for wanting to see our weakest position upgraded -- especially whenever the aforementioned problem has been so crippling.

Yeah Rockets gotta do something... not asking for a bigtime hyped moved just acquire a point guard who is an offensive threat lol.

    Be patient people.

Remember we didn't trade for Harden until like a week before the season started in 2012, so it might be MONTHS before we trade for a PG.

KJ and Smith won't be settled until KJ signs an offer sheet with another team.

    Not even mad about it.

If those guys are willing to take so much less, then good on them.

It speaks to the culture of that organization and the players they have drafted and signed.

How can anyone blame LaMarcus for wanting to be part of that when he has players taking far less staring him in the face.

Collison had a good season but as well might have not had one. Its not like his carreer is so good. And you fail to understand that kpap was win win situation. If he pans out you are happy and keep him. If not you can trade him. If collison didnt oan out he woukd be negative value and couldnt be traded without anither plus asset.

    1) We should keep KJ at the right price.
    2) All I am saying is getting a legit PG should be our top priority, not re-signing KJ, even if Papa and Dekker gets traded, KJ is still behind Brewer and Ariza in the rotation.

    1) We do desperately need a backup PG. It's actually the other way around. We really don't need KJ right now.
    2) Signing a PG doesn't hurt our chances of trading for Lawson.
    3) Signing a PG right now really has very minimal/no impact on our future flexibility.

Remember that odds also reflect who's betting on what. So there are a lotta Chicago homers out there, and remember that making a bunch of moves (Mavericks) makes casual fans think they've improved even if they haven't.

signing a 22 year old elite defender at the wing and trading for a back up point guard is a bigger priority than signing a backup point guard and losing an elite wing defender.

using the MLE on KJ doesn't affect your ability to get a PG. using the MLE on a point guard (none that are available are worth using it on anyways) guarantees you lose KJ and probably josh smith.
