We lost Game 1 by 4 points and we lost Game 2 by 1 point. On their court. They did kick our ass in Games 3 and 5 but they did not "kick our ass" 8 out of 9 times. In the WCF, with them at full health and us missing two starters, we almost stole Game 1 and then we almost stole Game 2. If we'd been healthy it would have been a different series. They don't own us. We're much closer to them than you apparently believe.

Jonathan Feigen had a great quote in his article earlier. He said, "The Rockets are not in a hurry to make the next move, they are more concerned with making the right move."

That is exactly the approach they need to be taking. Patience, free agency is not even a week old and no one is even capable of signing anyone for a almost a week.

I agree we aren't in a hurry right now.....but I hope we have a pg situation resolved or second play maker by the season opener at least. I don't want more wear and tear on harden even for half a season.

Dear Lord, indeed. Imagine Kobe, Lou, and Swaggy P chucking it up in Showtime. One ball is not enough...

No i disagree xiki. D'allesandro is hired to be only a capologist not only for the Nuggs but also a NHL team of Kroenkes. He shouldn't get involved with decisions. And the Nuggets were already pestering Sac to trade for Lawson. They don't have any aversion to trade with them if the return is good.

Rondo wont' return if he has a good season for the same reason that he only signed after he DEMANDED a signing of a shooter and for the same reason he turned them down when they tried to trade for him and his bird rights even if they had a better offer for Boston. He doesn't want to play there. He's only forced to play there because they are the only stupid to pay him so much money.

    That was nothing serious.
He is going to the Mavs where he will be guaranteed a starting job and his buddy is . Or else he will go to Philly where he will get more money but it's very unlikely.
Just so you know Jones has muuuch more value than Harell who is unproven and is hopeless to learn ever to shoot and has low upside. As a Rocket fan I would hate such a deal. As a Bucks fan the only reason I prefer Harell is because he could potentially play some smallball center and we won't have to max Jones or s+t him. But as trading chip Jones is worth much more and he shouldn't be wasted on getting oj.
That's a very good deal and sweet lou should have gotten 10 per. But this free agency went on too fast and he was left with scraps. he made a mistake to sign 3 year deal.
LOL at a team with lou and swaggy   and on the other end the antithesis of Hibbert.
    pure commedy.

don't get desperate. it doesn't matter who gets signed right now besides Josh smith. We can't afford anyone of these guys. We will make a trade and that's how we will get our pg. Relax and keep an eye on indiana and phoenix.

It sounds like you are saying we should prioritize signing KJ over Josh Smith. If so, that is a very stupid statement.

He did say "long term". Smith is an important band-aid to have coming off the bench at PF but he's not a long term solution. KJ would be more of a long term project.

This. These are all FA signings which were never an option for us since we're over the cap. We just need to figure out smith/KJ and wait until teams are ready to deal in trades.

Initially, I thought we might be able to afford some of these FA guards, but if we want to retain KJ AND sign a guard, that's looking nearly impossible at the moment.

That leaves a trade, and we know Morey plays hardball, i.e. he's not rushing into anything. I do think the next 2 weeks are the perfect time to execute a trade with teams look to clean up their roster or create cap space, unless you don't mind going into the season with the current roster, aiming for a February deal.

Best situations for us to watch are Sacramento & SA. Have to think (or hope!) 1 of Collison/Joseph/Mills will shake loose.

I just don't see how a 1 game on 2 game off Smith is a good thing. McHale said as much when asked about our free throw shooting that we could not trot out the same big men again. I like Smiths toolbox. But the dudes head locks him out of that toolbox all too often.

this talk about johnson to the cavs is frightening. if they get him its very likely they will win a championship. provided lebron is healthy. they will also have his bird rights and can resign him after he expires to cheap vet contract. I don't like this.

And he would still be wrong. The window of opportunity is now, JSmove is the solution right now. You don't invest big money in projects with hope of a payout years from now. Not if you are trying to maximize Harden's peak years.

Josh Smith can help Harden and Rockets win now. And this coming from a huge KJ fan.

Can't worry about what other teams are doing, especially teams out East.

What would they have to give up for him? His contract is huge but he's definitely still a serviceable player.
