Man, Lawson's defensive stats look so bad though.

You have one of the best defenders at the position under contract for four years. Adding Lawson helps you no matter how bad his defense is.

I have never understood this logic. Lawson and Beverley are not going to be playing at the same time. You can't sub in Lawson for only offensive plays and Beverley for only defensive plays. Lawson is going to get lit up whenever he's in there. I prefer two way players.

Now, I'm not saying Lawson is a scrub of course. What would it cost us? If I'm the Nuggets, I want more than TJones and late first rounders.

Lawson will make his man work on defense though..

Bev would be like Brewer.. just come off the bench and bring energy.

Motiejunas is probably what it's going to take for Lawson. Ty is a legit double double guy. So is Motiejunas. Both are probably equal value.

"The best defensive is a good offense"

Remember what Wes Mathews did to Harden when we met in the playoffs; went after him on offense, possession after possession... really wore him down. A combination of Lawson attacking on offense, and then subbed in with Beverly clamping down on defense for spurts: pretty dangerous, and an upgrade over what we currently have no matter how you put it.

Where can I find defensive stats on him?

The logic is when you approach a matchup that Lawson seemingly can't handle you have Beverley there as an option to come in and make the opposing PG work harder.

If you are playing the Spurs, and Pop has decided he likes the Aldridge matchup against Dmo and Parker is not being used, it makes no sense for Beverley to be on the floor, when Lawson is there.

You guys are dumbing down the game too much. The bottom line is you add good players to your team. Lawson is a Good player.

Maybe. But the coach should be able to utilize them effectively. Even if you bring Lawson off the bench as a super sixth man. Playing against backups it might not be as bad. And then they have to hold him on the other end.

With beg and Lawson both guys should be able to go full bore while they are in. Plus having Dwight and Aliza and brewer and smith may help Lawson's defense some. Sometimes when guys are on better teams in better situations they play better.

Of course they do. He's under contract. They have no obligation to trade him.

Why are we looking at stats from 2010? Lawson has improved nicely since then

All I'm saying is that things have degenerated to the point where they have to move him. They don't want to go through another year of drama. I'm sure they are ready to turn the page.

Last year was horrible for him defensively, but before that he had seasons with as many defensive win shares as Beverley.

Seems like collision might be the best value. I think I'm pulling for us to get him if we can only give up jones + bench guys
