What about Sergio Rodriguez from Real Madrid? Teammate of Llull. He is not quite as good as Llull, but was name Euroleague MVP in 13/14. Has a small buyout, wants to play in NBA, is a P&R specialist.

If they don't go into the season with Bev as a starter, we are in trouble.

Find me this magical PG that can lock down Curry/CP3/Westbrook/Conley/Lillard and ca n shoot 3's.

Because I know where one is. He's played a whopping three seasons in the NBA.

Bev is the key. And the answer. Now if you want to go get someone like DJ Augustin to come off the bench with the second unit, as the play maker, then sure, lets do that.

But Harden being sandwiched by two elite perimeter defenders is the way to go.

Had he been healthy and we beaten GS, you'd be singing a different tune right now.

I can't see J. Calderon being our back PG with the Knicks going into rebuild mode

Unfortunately count_dough-ku Beverley is our starter and will be for the next 3 years. Hopefully we can find a suitable bench player who can come in and give us quality minutes at the point.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but Bev didn't look very good much of last season. Of course I hope for the lockdown defender... but didn't see the same Bev on defense.

I can settle for a backup PG like Stuckey or Joseph. Harden will be the main facilitator with the starting unit. Then the backup we sign will run the show with the rest of the bench. McHale will decide on who closes the game depending on who has it going that night(like Rudy used to do with Kenny and Sam).

But we cannot go into next season with Bev and Terry as our PG rotation.

Eric Bledsoe would be ideal with Beverly coming off the bench. To me Adding bledsoe is that next corner stone to beat the Warriors Or Spurs. We probably wont get past those 2 teams if we meet up in the 2nd round. Just saying...

Bledsoe, Harden, Ariza, J.Smith, Howard, That like a mini allstar team there.

Honestly, Beverly is one of my favorite players, but his defense has been grossly overrated on this board (at least with respect to defending other PGs).

Best case scenario is that bev gets back to his defensive lock down level that he was at two years ago, improves his 3 point shot, and most importantly stay healthy.

Unfortunately that's putting a lot of hope on things that are a bit of a long shot. I'm especially worried about his ability to stay healthy. The way he plays really does lead to a lot of injuries. I mean he's been hurt the last two years in the playoffs.

We obviously have to have help. I know DMor knows that. Obvs harden does too.

Worst case is that we go into next year hoping or the best version of bev, as well as hoping nick Johnson takes a big step forward. That scares me, but it isn't hopeless.

Come on DMor! Get Harden some help!

harden could get injured this year. Never know...

So i think thats why you need to go out there and find a PG/SG Combo who can score. I mean of course Howard and Smith would really have to take over the scoring load. Brewer a backup sf/sg, they really need a pg who can avg 11-14 a night, with about 7 apg. Lawson comes to mind. But you never know if harden will get injured this year and rockets might lose some games.

Agreed. His production went down as his minutes went up. No one can sustain that level of energy checking point guards 94 feet the entire game. Ppl here are saying he's the magic bullet to stopping Curry, Westbrook, etc. Yes he would be a major upgrade from Terry but he's not the magic solution. Great offense beats great defense no matter how you slice it.

I agree with trying for Stuckey or Joseph. The team needs another playmaker besides Harden.
I would be satisfied with this offseason if we resign Smith and get a playmaker like Stuckey or Joseph.

im on the stuckey wagon. i also hope he starts, or after a month or two.

one thing the top 4 seeds in each conference had in common is more than one facilitator in the starting lineup

    hawks - teague, milsap, horford
    cavs - bron and kyrie
bulls - rose, pau and noah
    clips - blake and cp3
gsw - curry, green and bogut
    griz - conley and marc
wizards have wall who gets 10apg so thats the same thing

rockets only have harden. bev avg 3apg in the season and so did terry in the playoffs but thats only by default since they started pg. its like whoever starts at pf/c will get 7rebs just by being there.

im not too confident rockets will fare well forcing harden to do all of the facilitating against other teams starters. pple dont realize along with being the first option, he's also working like hell to get his team good looks.

just trade TJones + right to Llull+ Papa for George Hill to be our starting PG! Hill'd be the perfect fit here.

trade Johnson + a 2nd pick and expiring contracts (Prig/Dorsey) for a shooter like J.Dudley.

use our MLE to resign Smith/McDaniels

sign Terry & Scola with Vet. Min.

    Howard, Scola, Capela
    DMo, Smith, Harrell
    Ariz, Dudley, Dekker
    Harden, Brewer, McDaniels
    Hill, Beverley, Terry

this line-up should be good enough to earn a top 4 seed

Totally agree with DJ Augustine. 3ml a year. He can pick and pop and hit the 3. Perfect for the Rockets! Should have traded our draft pick for him IMO.

Lol exactly. Beverley's defense is very overrated. Especially in the regular season.

I will say though that his style of play is very suited for the playoffs and he is a big asset there.
