Aldridge is a way better rebounder than DMo and he is a better shot blocker. DMo is a very good man on man defender in the post though and he gave Aldridge some problems when they were matched up against each other last season. I think DMo's back to the basket game is better than LMA but LMA has a good post game and a way better mid range game than DMo. DMo improved his 3pt shot last season to where it was a real weapon though. The biggest difference between DMo and Aldridge on offense though is the fact that DMo becomes too passive at times and not willing to take the easy shot or take the shot when he has a mis-match. Aldridge will be an alpha dog on offense at times forcing the action and rarely turning down an easy shot or mis-match in the post.
Either way, something has to change with Bev. Less minutes, 1-2 punch at point guard, ect. He gets far too worn down every season
Not necessarily. Bev at least needs somebody to compete with, no more being the starter by default. I don't think a Lawson or Lowry is realistic, but there are plenty of borderline starters potentially available, especially with LMA to SAS. Collison, Mills, Joseph come to mind.
LOL did you see DMo against that allegedly defensively dominant PF last year? We'd have no interest in signing Faried whatsoever, we already have him on the roster, we drafted him this year.
WHAT? He wouldn't start nowhere. Kings had rondo and collison knicks had calderon who in contrast with Bev is a good fit in the triangle and developing their rookie. The only team he would start besides the Rockets is Philly.
Stevie Wonder can see his style of play and starters' minutes don't mesh. Whether he technically starts or not, he doesn't need to be playing nearly as many minutes as he has the past 1.5 seasons. This is why I can't wrap my brain around why people think re-signing him means we're throwing in the towel on the PG position. And if Bev stated that he wasn't willing to come off the bench, I certainly missed that.
You actually believe it really matters what he says. If there is a better option then we use it. Bevs D dropped once he started focusing more on his O. And his playmaking is mediocre at best. Colison is still not out of the realgm of possibility and IMO is a better starting option.
It would have to be for 2.49 million or less. Do you really think Josh is going to sign in Sacrament of 2.49 million or less? Josh absolutely can not be signed by the Rockets for more than 2.49 million and then traded to Sacramento or any other team in a S&T deal. Also, the Rockets can not bring back a non-guaranteed contract in a S&T deal AND get a trade exception. Just because we cut a player with a non-guaranteed contract does not give us a traded player exception.
Rondo signed after Beverley did. Maybe that's why Bev ultimately turned down more money. So he could start here.
I never saw where he demanded a starting position. in a perfect world the "other' point guard would be a scoring point guard and would come off the bench anyway, so Bev would still start.
realgm of possibility lol With the way their offseason has gone doubt they will trade collison. However kings are kings. Maybe Morrey can trade rape them like his friend Hinkie.
Exactly when did he make this clear? Josh was the one that volunteered to go to the bench last season.
I'm beginning to think Rockets_12 is passing his own speculation off as something Bev actually said. I find it difficult to believe that wouldn't have been mentioned here if he really said that.
