Well I'm not really looking at career 3 pt shooting rather than recent 3 point shooting. Stuckey was at .390 beyond the arc last year. I'd rather have him.
It's because no one looks at numbers and makes assumptions. Collison is known for being average at everything when he stands out at some highly valued aspects of the game.
But .300 every year before that. I'd rather have the guy who we know can consistently shoot it at 37% than the guy who shot 39% one year in his career.
Collison can't run an offense at all. I suppose he wouldn't need to here. Still, I'd rather have Lou Williams (shot selection and all) if we can make the money work. Though I imagine that might impact our flexibility going forward.
And 27% the year before that, barely cracked 30% before that. Collison is by far the more consistent 3 point shooter -- and Stuckey is more of a scorer than a creator, where Collison (at least in my mind) fits the bill of the secondary creator Harden requested, and can still score. I like them both, but if forced to choose I have a hard time finding an argument for Stuckey being superior.
I wouldn't be ripping my hairs out if we got Collison, he's a good young player that can improve. Regardless, at a point where we don't know how much Dwight has left, the question is not, is it an improvement? The question is, does it put us over the top? & the answer is no. It would've been a tighter series against GS if we were healthy, however I still think we would've lost. Bev didn't stop anyone last year & even with the size advantage, I'm giving the match up at the 4 to horse mouth. Like I said, if we get Collison, it cannot be the only significant move we make from here to Feb.
You look at both. Collison shot 37.3% from 3 last year and 37.6% the year before and shoots about 37% for his career. So you see that it isn't a fluke. Stuckey, however, while he did shoot 39% from 3 last season, his previous 3 seasons were: 27% 30% 31% He's a career 30% 3-point shooter. He had a fluke year last year.
I want both guys personally.... While collision is the better 3point shooter for hei career he's not great it's disrespectful to compare his 3 point shooting to harden or worse jet. He's had some 33% shooting years, I think personally he's about as good as bev at 3s if he came her expect his volume to go up and his 3% to go down too the likes of 34-35%. Not terrible but not great by any means. But he can score playmake and get in the paint a combo of him And bev would be great.
He ran the offense really well for New Orleans,he just needs to be in the right system. And he'd be great next to Harden and in our up-tempo offense imo.
While I do agree with you that Collison is a more consistent career 3 point shooter by some margin, I do believe that scenery strongly affects a shooters confidence. It's one thing to play in a above average system like Indy & actually be somewhat successful & it's another thing to play in cluster**** like Detroit where you're destined to rot if you stay there. & you're exactly right, Stuckey is more of a scorer but that's what we need, no? Someone else that can create their own shot other than number 13? I don't think facilitating is a problem this team has, finding another person to create something, is.

I have not..... I still think we have as good a shot as any unlike most people here tho. Woj did tweet that the rockets still feel they can make the moves to get LMA here even after resigning bev and brew and feigien did say that the rockets think resigning our guys will only help. I don't think he's going to Phoenix at all it's between us and spurs. Theirs a reason we haven't heard anything about the rockets, and that's a good thing IMO. Something cooking up
Doc said something along the lines of "hand's in pockets indicates unwillingness, mistrust, and reluctance."
Wearing rocket red I love it. Crazy that pop is going so hard in LMA he knows they need him bad since they have gutted their roster. I know many think its spurs for sure but if so why would pop have scheduled a second meeting. Obviously they don't feel that strongly that they have it in the bag.
Agreed, body language tells a lot, seems like he's unsure of pops pitch, and he is wearing a lotta red... Nice kicks.
